25.01.2022 Walk where your heart leads you... even if it’s a trail less followed or there is no clear path before you... We often put rules on ourselves and on our lives that we think are there for our standards, values, beliefs, protection and safety, but at what point do some of these self rules go past quality standards and healthy beliefs and are more based on fear? Where the self rules start to limit the full life experience we could be having to fulfil our heart and soul. Crazy se...lf rules huh! It’s good to notice them when they come up, think about where these come from, which to keep and which to let go of in order to follow our heart and spirit. The Adventures Spirit Cheers to traveling unknown paths in order to walk where your heart leads you

25.01.2022 Running your whole house on rainwater is rather simple too, all you need is a pipe from the tank to a water pump, which is then connected to your mains water pipe where there is a tap to switch from mains water to your rain water. From this point the rain water uses the rest of your already installed plumbing systems and the water pump creates the pressure to push the water through the house. The pressure is much better from the pump. To be additionally cool, we run our house on solar so the pump too runs on solar power. To go one step further in the sustainability and emergency resilience direction, by running a house on rain water and solar power, when the mains water or power is off... you can still have water accessible to you and your family
24.01.2022 Some people think that because their roof gets dirty they’ll be drinking dirty water or there’s the problem of mosquitoes breeding in the tank, to address these problems my dad showed me an additional small cheap system that anyone can make to help solve these problems. The water cleaning system is simple all it is is a leaf and bug catcher with a mesh screen, then the first catchment dirty water goes through mesh and into the downward pipe that has a screw off lid on the bottom so you can screw it off and let out the dirty water. Then you put the lid back on where the pipe then fills up and overflows into the horizontal pipe letting only clean water into the actual tank.

20.01.2022 WATER one of life most precious life giving substances. One of the first things that is essential to life and trying to go more sustainable is looking at how we access and use our WATER. For us in the central Australian desert we get our mains water from bores that tap deep into an ancient aquifer called the Amadeus basin. Our water is pretty good quality yet it is high in calcium and other minerals leading to reduced plumbing lifespan, calcified tap-ware, dried out skin an...d hair, is not sustainable long term and has high cost. The difference in harvesting fresh rain water compared to bore water is significant. Rain water is pure water and makes a big difference in superb taste, improved body hydration, improved organ function, improved skin condition and hair softness, improved plant growth, increased plumbing fittings and appliance lifespan. Furthermore, once the tank system is installed the water is a gift from the clouds, is good for the environment, and hence sustainable and 2 more big WOW factors is its free of charge and.... readily accessible to you and your family when your mains water is off. To go more sustainable, improve yours and your family health, reduce your water bills, improve your resilience to cope with emergencies whilst helping your environment look into harvesting your own rain water.

12.01.2022 Yesterday’s ride, started with gorgeous sunrise and had a hawk keeping me company as I rode . On way home, snapped a shot going through the gap with a 4 carriage road train passing, bit windy! The mountain ranges are beautiful in Alice. 32km round trip, BAM!
09.01.2022 Always nice to get rain in the desert. Love water! Swimming in it drinking it washing in it flushing it growing gardens We underestimate the importance of water in our daily lives. The more I try catch rain in water tanks the more I appreciate it as a precious resource! It certainly doesn’t fall out of the sky enough in the red centre and gets worse with drought and summer.... Some survival thoughts about water People are made up of 60-70% waterand only about 1% of the total earths water is drinkable. We can only survive about 3 days without water. If we factor in harsh weather such as a heatwave or good ol summer in the desert, loss of power for cooling, elderly, children, pregnancy, illness, outdoor work, or exercise... we can reduce our survival time without water to a lot less then 3 days... Hmmm... if your water goes off, how much water do you have stored in your place or workplace? Most homes only have a few bottles in the fridge and 1 x flush in the toilet? How much water should we have stored? Well depends on how much we would typically use in a day. When I go bushwalking I take about 3 litres of water for a 3-4 hour hike. Going camping: I take 10litres of water per person per day, this allows for basic hand washing, drinking, cooking, & doing the dishes in a bowl. If looking at a home: showers, baths, clothes washing, drinking, dish washing, toilet flushing we can easily use around 200litres per day per person. It’s always good to have some water storage around your home and workplace... it’s especially handy for when your water is turned off or, in some places when the power is off too it means there is no water out the tap either (double risk whammy!). It’s good to know your home and how your water and power systems work. Let’s look after our water resource and improve storing it for our health

07.01.2022 Early morning 13km trail run in the glorious mountains Ended up having to cut it short due to sore feet, trialing new shoes and orthotics, bottom of feet arches ripped raw Got to keep chugging and trialing new things in a time when searching for and building happiness. On this run I was deeply captivated in thoughts about unconditional love, finding strength in love and faith, and the importance of creating happiness within ourselves to be able to love another full...y. I am blessed and grateful to have great friends and family who love and support me, share perspectives, inspire growth and I love sharing the same. What I have learned and am reminded of recently, is that unconditional love begins with loving and caring for ourselves before we can truely love another freely. From here, unconditional love is found in giving selflessly where even in times of crisis, struggle and disaster we go in and give without conditions or expectation of anything in return. It’s wonderful to help each other in times of need, share love, communicate from a honest heart and be brave in times of pain as these are the foundations of resilient relationships and communities
