25.01.2022 "It shouldn't be this way" or "this back pain is so bad" are comments we commonly hear. People tend to associate pain with badness. Pain isn't bad! Pain is neutral, not good or bad. It may be difficult or challenging, but pain isn't necessarily a struggle. It is a mental shift to think of pain as neutral, as it takes away the resistance and blame. Yes... it's painful. Lean in, feel all the feels (frustration, sadness, irritability etc), listen to your body, learn from the exp...erience, grieve the loss and grow from the pain. When we are scared or anxious about why we have pain, what the future holds, then, it can be very difficult to live in the present moment. You have the power to be curious, surrender, be attuned to the pain and even go so far as to have harmony and acceptance, whilst in pain. Be an agent of change and try to release the suffering, find the positive in the situation. In our Pain Management classes (which we hope to recommence in the new year) we ask patient's to look for the silver lining. Most people that have experienced long term pain, can come up with at least one good that has come from the experience. Try these curios questions next time you have pain: "what can I do with this pain"? "what can I learn from this situation"? We have the power to live in the now with less stress and suffering. 23.01.2022 Does PRG offer Clinical Pilates? We sure do! We have a trapeze table, reformers and all sorts of fun rehabilitation equipment to get you moving. We tailor all our classes which means we don't run 'pure' clinical pilates classes. Instead, we incorporate clinical Pilates into our rehabilitation programs.... That means we can jazz things up depending on what you need and create a class that's unique for you. If you're interested in our rehab classes you can read more here: https://www.prgphysio.com.au/classes/ or jump straight on the phone and book your pre-assessment with Di. Here's how to find us: Call Di on 0497 111 127 Latrobe Community Health Service, Level 1/31 Mason St, Warragul Mon/Tue 8:30-5:00, Weds 8:30-8:00, Thurs 8:30-5:00, Fri 9:00-5:00

22.01.2022 What shall I wear to my Physiotherapy Appointment? We recommend wearing comfortable tracksuit pants and a t shirt that lets you move freely. Formal workwear or clothes you’ve been working in all day can be uncomfortable to work with so we recommend getting changed into something that will let you move freely. We have a room for you to change into something more comfortable. We even have spare shorts in different sizes to access a hip or knee more easily than jeans. ... If you’re coming from a muddy work site it’s a good idea to get changed before coming in, otherwise Di will be after you with the vacuum cleaner ;) For more FAQ, like "what type of appointment should I book"? or "Can I still see my other health practitioners"? or "do I need a referral for my visit"? visit our website www.prgphysio.com.au/faqs/

If you're booking in with persistent or chronic pain, let us know when you call up. That way we can put aside a bit of extra time to talk through your condition. 18.01.2022 Ever wondered what the PRG team get up to all day? (I bet you have!). Well, here are the most common aches and pains that we see throughout the week: 1. Headaches (which we have a great blog about here: https://www.prgphysio.com.au/how-to-get-rid-of-tension-hea/)... 2. Whiplash (neck injury after a sudden movement) 3. Tennis elbow (pain around the outside of the elbow, you don't need to play tennis to have it!) 4. Lower back pain 5. Osteoarthritis in the hips and knees 6. Tears and ruptures in the ACL (knee ligament), and rehab to get it moving again 7. Ankle sprains (so easy to do and can be horribly painful, please don't leave them!) 8. Achilles tendinopathy (injury to the tendon at the back of your ankle/lower leg) Any of these sound familiar? Sometimes it's easy to leave a little ache and pain and pass it off as ageing or 'just one of those things'. There's absolutely no reason to suffer though. There's no ache too small or pain too large for us. We'll ease your discomfort and get you moving again. In fact, it's what we absolutely love to do (and we like a little chat while we do it ). To book your appointment with the PRG team just get in touch: Call Di on 0497 111 127 Latrobe Community Health Service, Level 1/31 Mason St, Warragul Mon/Tue 8:30-5:00, Weds 8:30-8:00, Thurs 8:30-5:00, Fri 9:00-5:00 *Covid safety precautions in place for all appointments*

13.01.2022 Be the driver of your health journey. Take the wheel and take ownership of your health. Physiotherapists at Progressive Rehab Group like to teach you techniques to help yourself get better. We may only see you for half an hour a week, so what you do with the rest of the time is vital to your recovery/management. Self massage, heat or ice, home exercise program, trigger point release with spiky ball, read a recommended book, foam rolling, taping, return to walking program........ whichever technique or skill you need. Your Physio should be helping you, to help yourself. We don't always have a magic wand or quick fix. Set some short and long term goals to rehab from an injury or to manage a chronic health condition (such as Arthritis, Cardiovascular disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). We help patients find strength, confidence and the strategies for self empowerment. Phone Di our remote receptionist on 0497111127 to book an appointment. Our current clinic hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm.

11.01.2022 This is a blog WORTH READING.... Especially if you have persistent pain. Noijam has over 650 blogs on pain education and this blog in particular was one of their most popular for 2020. At Progressive Rehab Group we want to empower you to "take the wheel" and be the driver of your journey.

03.01.2022 Isn't it wonderful seeing so many friends, family, kids and community members out and about? If you've been isolating or working from home just saying G'day to someone can lift your mood for the day. Regular exercise is so important for our mental and physical health. It can help reduce symptoms of mental health conditions like depression and anxiety, boost your mood and help you sleep better. Research shows that spending time around trees and looking at trees reduces stre...ss, lowers blood pressure and improves mood. Numerous studies show that both exercising in forests and simply sitting looking at trees reduce blood pressure as well as the stress-related hormones cortisol and adrenaline. So let's make the most of the beautiful part of the world we live in and walk, cycle, jog and play amongst nature. #lovegippsland
