15.01.2022 Finally! You bought your dream place. It's time now to have a look how you can make it really your own. Painting walls, changing floor, refurbishing the bathroom and kitchen. How to go about it? Firstly, live in the new house for a minimum of a couple of months or a year. So, you have a good feel of what you do like and what you don't like in your new home. So, you know what you need to change. ... Secondly, we recommmend to have a look at the big picture first. Do the big jobs first, like refurbishing the kitchen or bathroom (if you can afford) and leave the paining and floors to the end. You do not want to make damage to your new walls and floors, do you? Work out a list of 'must do' and 'would nice' items. If you need to work out your budget for the refurbishment, contact ProHands Australia for a quote. Call Suzanne at 0422-27-37-47 and discuss the details of your job. You can also find more details at : www.prohands.com.au .

09.01.2022 We are all preparing for online learing for our kids. How to create study spaces for them? I have 3 kids, different ages, two at high school and one in junior. By tomorrow, we needed to set up working spaces for all three of them, where they can use a laptop and join into online learning. We have set up one in my son's bedroom, one in the study and the little one, will sit at the dining table (as I don't want them to disturb each other). I have also saved a space for myself i...n the office (I promise, I will be quiet and will not disturb my son). I have also emptied part of the book shelf and put all the books, office supplies etc in a space where any of them have access to without disturbing the others. Please also consider primary using what you already got. For example, I used that paper box, which I originally bought my items home from the shops and re-purposed it to keep pencils and other office supplies in it. I might wrap it in left-over wrapping paper when I get to it. We also give a consideration to what happens if the office supplies run out and the shop will be shut and bought a box of extra paper and ink for the printer. You are welcome to share this to give other parents an idea, how to set up a study space for their kids. Do you have any good ideas for your kids' study space? Please share it with us!

03.01.2022 Choosing a building contractor. OK, I tell you a little story which happened last year. We were quoting for a job where asbestos was identified. In the quote we noted this is as a possibility, indicating what are the likely cost of removing the asbestos before staring the refurbishment. When it eventuated, the owner mentioned that she does not understand how could the asbestos removal cost so much when last year her neighbour removed a whole shed made of asbestos for $500. ...Continue reading
