25.01.2022 @mbrownracing in with their brand new Otto Tuza 4HAL for a sacrifice mat. This is something we do in regular/commercial use floats in the high traffic areas. After having great results in their other float it only made sense to put one in the new rig before use. The name says it all the horses can damage this additional sacrifice piece of rubber and protect the main flooring rubber. It can then be removed and a new piece stapled and sealed in when needed at a fraction of the price of replacing the floor rubber. 20.01.2022 Luana Groves and Matthew Brown Racing have been using their Rowville regularly and it was time for a bit of a freshen up going into the new year. New rubber floor, new tackbox top, full tailgate rebuild, wall timber and rubber repairs, divider infill panel replacement and padding tidy up, Roof repair and a few other bits and pieces as well as a full service. 16.01.2022 This is our 3rd float this week with broken tailgate hinges. Almost always avoidable with regular preventative maintenance. But when they do go wrong ProHitch will get you sorted again. Removed, repaired and refitted with new greasable hinges. 12.01.2022 Phoebe bought her float to us with her current non structural plywood floor rotten out in only a matter of a few years. So out with the old and in with a new F17 structural hardwood floor and tailgate as well as a single piece rubber all sealed up at each stage. This flooring has no risk of rot. 12.01.2022 Another one of the Spierings Construction boys in for a service with his brakes not working. Rubber deteriorates and cracks after a while in the elements preventing adequate brake pressure. A new Hydraulic reservoir and a comprehensive service and hes on his way again, same day, safe and sound to keep hauling all those tools to site again.

07.01.2022 This customer has picked up a trailer and is looking forward to modifying it ready for work. Firstly a comprehensive service and inspection to make sure everything is safe and ready. Then we cut out and fabricate a new rear tailgate to allow sliding drawers out the back. All fabbed up and ready for a clean up and paint prep before installing the new drawers and storage systems.

07.01.2022 ProHitch ProTip - Reversing Very few of us can claim to be masters of the dark arts known as trailer reversing. On occasion (and usually when no one is watching) it goes exactly where aimed. But on a busy Sunday morning at the local Tip we can provide several minutes of amusement for onlookers. Smaller trailers are particularly pesky as a full lock steering wheel doesnt seem to do anything until bam its suddenly snapped sideways and youre pulling forward to straighten up ...again. It is actually simple in theory. If you turn the back of the vehicle to the left the back of the trailer will move to the right and vise versa. Alternatively, right hand down will move the back of the trailer to the left, left hand down puts the trailer on a path to the right. With a larger trailer or caravan where your rearward vision will be reduced or non-existent have someone positioned so they can see the rear of the trailer and signal you to stop if need be. If youre going to be towing on a regular basis find an open area (campsite, park etc), make a parking space with some wheelie bins or cones and practice reversing into the space from different angles while decreasing the size of the space as your confidence grows. Most of all take your time, move slowly, utilise your mirrors and cameras and if in doubt pull back out, breathe and try again.

Yep it keeps our overheads low and therefore our costs down but more importantly we’re able to have more family time and instil some skills at a young ages. Jack has natural mechanical aptitude and I’m proud of the kid he is becoming, I think he will be running this show in years to come.
