04.01.2022 Sometimes I wonder how HR functions differently these day to say 20 years ago, did we face the same challenges as 2020 or have we perhaps created a space that’s now biting us back. Human Resources is now fancified (yep made up a word) with the title culture & diversity officer.... what does that mean? I suspect the struggle remains the same albeit the deluge of mental health has reshaped everything and grit is no longer there for many. Having said that Everyone in the team ...has their purpose no matter how big or small the contribution - it all counts to the larger picture. Be the type of company that will leave the fish to flourish in its tank, the stallion in the field, the monkey in the tree. Your greatest asset in HR is to listen. It’s never going to be a 100% match each time, rarely is. Be brave enough to also know when it’s time to refresh your thinking, your actions and the impact they have on others.
