06.02.2022 Some great resources provided here for parents to take an active role in their child’s safety online from ThinkUKnow Australia and the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation.

23.01.2022 More outstanding work by Yayasan Project Karma Indonesia - YPKI with another case concluded in Bali. This case was commenced in August 2021. The verdict was delivered on Thursday, January 20, 2022 in a trial open to the public at the Denpasar District Court.... It was declared that the Defendant, initials DS, a 37 year old male from Denpasar, was legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing the crime of intercourse against children" and continuing sexual abuse of children". DS was sentenced to imprisonment for 11 years and a fine of 1 billion rupiah (AUD$100,000) and if not paid, it is replaced with further imprisonment for 6 (six) months. We continue to work with our key partners in Bali to provide ongoing support and welfare for the 16 year old female victim. Thank you to our donors and volunteers around the world that enable us to run Project Karma's Sentinel Model in Bali and continue seeking justice for the voiceless. The last 2 years have been considerably challenging but we have developed successful methods to continue delivering successful outcomes. We also wish to thank Polresta Denpasar (Denpasar District Police) and the Public Prosecutors involved in this case for a successful outcome. We have more active investigations ongoing in Bali and hope to report further results in the coming weeks/months.

18.01.2022 This is a great initiative for parents and caregivers from the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation: Let’s empower children and young people to help set expectations and boundaries around using devices and the internet. Task seven of the #OnlineSafetyChecklist is to download and implement a Family Online Safety Contract. Hopefully, after 7 days of open and honest conversation your child is better educated on the risks and challenges they might face online, and w...ill be willing to make an agreement on how to stay safe when using their internet connected devices. This contract was developed in partnership with The The Carly Ryan Foundation Inc. and ThinkUKnow Australia. 11.01.2022 Today, Project Karma was represented by our founder, Glen Hulley at the Parliament of Australia Joint Committee on Law Enforcement public hearings for the Inquiry into law enforcement capabilities in relation to child exploitation in Canberra via video link. We would like to thank our dedicated volunteers Lizzi and Nicole for their assistance in compiling our 15 page submission to the Committee earlier this year, which can be found here: https://www.aph.gov.au//Law_/Child...Exploitation/Submissions We would also like to thank Julian Simmonds MP, Anne Aly, Pat Conaghan MP, Senator Andrew McLachlan CSC and Senator Alex Antic for the invitation to participate in this inquiry and our inclusion among such respected individuals and organisations giving evidence to the Committee in these hearings. We hope the findings will assist the Australian Government to create more robust legal frameworks, create closer legislative alignment with its State partners and to invest further in non-government programs overseas (and domestically) that further assist Australian law enforcement objectives and capacities. These live, public hearings at Australian Parliament House can be viewed here: https://parlview.aph.gov.au/mediaPlayer.php Our evidence can be viewed at 3hours 24mins into the hearings, through to 4hrs 11mins. We are honoured that Project Karma's Sentinel Model and the work of Yayasan Project Karma Indonesia - YPKI has been recognised at Federal Government level in Australia and we will continue advocating to Governments around the world to better protect children from sexual exploitation. 06.12.2021 Introducing Project Karma - Fighting child sexual exploitation. Globally the market for the sexual exploitation of children stands at around $50 billion dollars..., involving over 2 million children, and is growing at an estimated 20% per year. CEO and founder Glen Hulley spent 13 years in the Victorian Police force. His fierce dedication to the fight against child sexual exploitation and trafficking was sparked in 2013 after he was offered a child for sexual services whilst on holiday in Cambodia. Following this experience, he sold everything he owned and formed Project Karma. Project Karma is focused on combating child sex exploitation through investigation, awareness raising and education, rescue, rehabilitation and advocacy. Help us, help them.
