04.01.2022 Congratulations to Project 47 and their team for turning over their first birthday. Over the past year the Transition To Work (TTW) program has helped place mo...re than 125 young people in full-time or part-time work and supported more than 80 young people to undertake accredited training in a range of industry sectors, including aged care, childcare, hospitality, construction and retail. To celebrate all the amazing work that the program and its staff had completed here is a special video made about one client and one staff member. Coordinator of Project 47, Shari Scott said the program’s focus has been on using an ‘advantaged thinking’ approach to enable young people to take control of their own lives and achieve their own success. Our method of employment coaching is about walking beside young people on their journey towards securing a job that’s the only way you achieve long-term success," Shari Scott said. Some of Project 47 participants have also been through tough times and they have demonstrated great determination and focused effort to turn their lives around, which can translate into being resilient and hard-working employees. Project 47 has five service locations in Hobart, Glenorchy, Sorell, Huonville and New Norfolk. The program is open to young Tasmanians aged 1521 who have not completed education to Year 12 or Certificate III level and meet other Department of Employment criteria. Well done everyone, here's to another successful year of Helping Tasmanian Young People.
