23.01.2022 Introducing Rosny College's Year 11 photographer, Stuart Jenkinson. Although relatively new to photography, Stuart makes up for this in his energy and keen interest in the medium. In nominating himself for Project: ART HOUSE, he has pushed the boundaries of his practice to incorporate a third dimension and leave a greater impact on the viewer. Stuart has also enjoyed learning about the history of Princes Park Magazine and surrounding area.

23.01.2022 Introducing Elizabeth College's taxidermist and Project: Art House's official assistant coordinator, Lily Rudd... Lily Rudd is a phenomenally switched-on creative, with a passion for all critters, large and small. Lily channels this passion into fantasy artwork, combining ethically-sourced taxidermy with mixed media. Studying Studio Practice this year, she is exceedingly keen to be involved in Project: Art House.

21.01.2022 Project: ART HOUSE will be opening the corridors of Princes Park Magazine to the public for THREE NIGHTS ONLY. Tasmanian students in Years 11-12, from Bellerive to Stanley, have been selected to produce art work in response to the site. Thus Project: ART HOUSE heightens the evocative nature of the Magazine and explores the Magazine's rich colonial history, from 1845 to now - almost two centuries later. As well as developing and showcasing young Tasmanian talent through site-specific art work, the exhibition aims to activate an otherwise uninhabited historic site. The space alone endeavours to spark dialogue and historical inquiry in the greater Hobart community. Curated, coordinated and constructed by youth, Project: ART HOUSE promises to both intrigue and inspire.

20.01.2022 Less than four weeks away, we are very pleased to share our opening night as an official event (shown below)! We are also super excited to announce that Big Henry's Curbside Catering will be serving up hot food for purchase all night long, for the 30th of September only! Tick 'going' and let the count down begin...

20.01.2022 Introducing Elizabeth College's audio designer, Carl Renshaw, and Utas Conservatorium of Music's mentor, James Nutting... Through an unlikely but nonetheless strong friendship, Carl and James produce musical compositions like no other. James is studying audio design at the University of Tasmania and has extensive experience in live performance. Paired with Carl, a recent finalist in the nationwide Triple J Unearthed High competition, they make an unstoppable duo. Carl and James typically work in the genre of psychedelic or grunge rock, but Project: Art House has encouraged them to experiment with sound, audio manipulation and a wide variety of instruments.

19.01.2022 Project: ART HOUSE has well and truly wrapped up. Thank you to all that came along to support us, local art, history and youth. In celebration, here's a little video made by our young photographer, Yasmin Donnelly...

17.01.2022 As the exhibition is in 3 DAYS, Project: ART HOUSE would like to again thank the following sponsors without whom the event would not be possible: City of Hobart Fullers Bookshop Big Henry's Food Truck

16.01.2022 2 DAYS TO GO... Here is a sneak peek of Lily Rudd's site-responsive art work...

12.01.2022 Don't forget: Project: ART HOUSE will be opening it's gates THIS FRIDAY, 6-9pm. Big Henry's Food Truck will be catering all night long.

12.01.2022 Introducing Rosny College's Year 11 mixed-media artist, Amy Castledine. Despite the difficulties she has faced in the production of her artwork, Amy feels that the experience has pushed her to produce pieces of a higher standard, as well as reach her potential. Amy has become increasingly confident through the entire Project: ART HOUSE exhibition process, and is eager to see the outcome of her hard work come opening night.

10.01.2022 Introducing Project: ART HOUSE's official curator and coordinator, Sophie Ambler. Sophie has been dreaming of combining her passions for art, history and event management since she was nine years old, and now, at 18, she is turning her dream into reality. She is currently studying Year 12 at Rosny College, and hopes that the exhibition will have a great impact on its audience, just as it already has for herself and the other students involved.

08.01.2022 Introducing Elizabeth College's oil painter, Dylan Collidge. Dylan has been selected for Project: ART HOUSE on the basis of his incredible talent and interpersonal skills. He had not heard of Princes Park Magazine before, and jumped at the opportunity to work within such a unique gallery space and explore its history. Through his participation in the exhibition, he hopes to put his foot in the door to the wider Tasmanian arts community.

07.01.2022 Introducing Launceston College 2015 graduate ceramicist, Calia Ratcliffe... After touring with the state-wide 2015 Art Rage exhibition, Calia Ratcliffe jumped at the opportunity to display her ceramic work in Project: ART HOUSE. Hailing from Launceston, she hopes that her work will spark discussion in the Southern Tasmanian community, and receive constructive criticism in order for her to grow as an artist. Now that she has graduated from college, lack of resources limit her art practice to sketching. However, thanks to Project: ART HOUSE, she has been reminded of her passion for ceramics and is looking forward to experimenting with said medium in future.

06.01.2022 Introducing Rosny College's Year 12 mixed-media artist, Miriam Boulton. Through Miriam's commitment to Project: ART HOUSE, she has challenged herself both conceptually and technically, with results to be proud of. She is excited by the opportunity to showcase her work in an alternative gallery setting, and it has given her the determination to support the local Tasmanian arts community into the future.

05.01.2022 A BIG THANK YOU to the major supporter for Project: ART HOUSE, Fullers Bookshop! The lovely staff at Fullers have been invaluable in getting this exhibition off the ground, and are just all-round great people to buy your books and coffee from. - Sophie, Curator/Coordinator

05.01.2022 1 DAY TO GO... Incredibly talented students, Faerlie Burton and Mary Scully from Elizabeth College Visual Arts, have designed and illustrated a map for the exhibition (pictured below). Please make your way through Princes Park, rather than along the road, and Big Henry's Food Truck will be parked right opposite the exhibition gate.

04.01.2022 Project: ART HOUSE is fortunate enough to be a recipient of the 2016/17 Creative Hobart Quick Response Grant, funded by the City of Hobart. Financial support aside, the Hobart City Council have also mentored our student coordinator, and deserve a big THANK YOU from our whole team!

04.01.2022 Introducing Elizabeth College's multidisciplinary artist, Alexandra "Alex" Paine. Alex is intent on maintaining a strong aesthetic in her art work. This aesthetic complements the eeriness of Princes Park Magazine. She sees Project: Art House as an opportunity to kick-start her career in the field of visual art and is looking forward to gaining experience in installation.
