25.01.2022 ElectraNet and TransGrid recently joined a host of industry experts at the 2019 Clean Energy Summit, in Sydney, where a common theme for discussion was the need to build new transmission lines and upgrade existing infrastructure to support the delivery of renewable energy to the National Electricity Market (NEM).Presenting at the Summit, ElectraNet and TransGrid highlighted the broad benefits that would flow from investment in proposed interconnectors such as Project EnergyConnect. You can download the presentations here: www.projectenergyconnect.com/article.php?id=47

25.01.2022 Check out this story in today's The Advertiser about EPS Energy's $1.17 billion solar farm project near Robertstown. Our proposed interconnector with NSW is one of the reasons the company has decided to invest locally.

22.01.2022 ICYMI in Saturday's The Advertiser, the proposed interconnector with NSW was named as one of 10 projects that could help give the South Australian economy a boost. A decision by the Australian Energy Regulator on whether the project will proceed is expected in the second half of 2019.

21.01.2022 Check out today's Murray Pioneer newspaper which has a story about our attendance at the Riverland Field Days to promote and answer questions about Project EnergyConnect,

21.01.2022 We recently held a community drop-in session at the Morgan Institute and were thrilled to discover we were sharing the heritage building during one of the weekly get-togethers of the Morgan Mural Group. These talented sewers have been working for years on quilted murals which tell the history of the greater Morgan area. What a coincidence that their latest mural includes the period when power came to Morgan! How timely. The year was 1947 and those black poles in the photo wit...h this post represent the incoming power poles soon there will be stitching on the mural to string the poles together. Our new interconnector will pass to the north of Morgan, yet it shows just how important access to reliable power is to communities. Go Morgan! Pictured at the Morgan Institute is our own Tilly Oborn with Kerry Anne Thomson and Rose Craig from the Morgan Mural Group with artist Diane Angel. See more

19.01.2022 Last week we received major news about Project EnergyConnect. The project was given Major Project Status by the South Australian Government! This status recognises the economic significance of the interconnector to South Australia and delivers a rigorous whole of government assessment process. Read more in the media release below. https://premier.sa.gov.au//interconnector-gets-major-proje

19.01.2022 ICYMI The Advertiser Business showcased how the proposed SA-NSW interconnector would create billions of dollars and hundreds of jobs. These benefits are on top of the bill reductions for South Australian and New South Wales residential and business customers.

18.01.2022 Late on Friday afternoon, the Australian Energy Regulator announced it's expecting to release its decision on whether Project EnergyConnect satisfies the requirements of the Regulatory Investment Test for Transmission (RIT-T) in early 2020. For more info see: https://bit.ly/35OonqZ

16.01.2022 Our more than 9,000 landowners have the opportunity to save 75% off the cost of native seedlings, tree guards and stakes through a new partnership with Trees For Life (SA). Landholders need to be current members of Trees For Life and can order up to 500 plants, stakes and tree guards. Orders are now open and can be made until 31 August 2019. To order visit www.treesforlife.org.au

14.01.2022 Have you ever wondered what actually is an interconnector? An electricity interconnector is a connection between multiple transmission networks that allows power to flow between regions. Interconnectors are common around the world including in Australia. Project EnergyConnect will involve the construction of a new 330 kilovolt (kV) above-ground transmission line connecting South Australia and New South Wales, with an added connection to north-west Victoria. The interconnector would help lower energy prices and improve security and reliability in these states.

12.01.2022 Great opportunity to see the team from TransGrid to learn more about the proposed new interconnector and its benefits!

12.01.2022 We love the Project EnergyConnect logo which was designed by ElectraNets Graphic Designer, Juanita. You might (if youre into electricity as much as us) recognise that the shape used is an engineering symbol for high voltage power transformers. The logo represents how the proposed interconnector will create an important link between the South Australian and New South Wales energy grids.

12.01.2022 The Project EnergyConnect team had a great time at last week's Riverland Field Days. With 13,000 people attending the two-day event, it was the perfect opportunity to speak with the community about the project and answer any questions they had. Well done to all involved and thank you to the Riverland's own Jannette Fulham Photography for these excellent pics!

09.01.2022 Yesterday, the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) released a report highlighting that additional power resources are needed to meet summer peaks. AEMO outlines that the acceleration of critical upgrades and construction of interconnectors and transmission to enable better use of existing and new supply resources is needed to improve reliability for customers. Project EnergyConnect is one of these projects which will improve electricity security and reliability and h...elp utilise the availability of new resources. In response to the AEMO report, the Clean Energy Council also called for urgent new investment in Australias transmission networks to ensure the security of Australias energy system. Clean Energy Council CEO Kane Thornton said directing power to the parts of the country which need it most at any given time will help to relieve the pressure on the power system and make the best use of the electricity we already have available.
