25.01.2022 THANK YOU GREAT OUTDOOR CUSHIONS Project Independence just couldn't keep doing it's vital work without the support of our community and local business. Today we want to say a huge thank you to a business that has supported us for the last two years... 07.01.2022 Meyer Vandenberg Lawyers have supported Project Independence from the very beginning, designing the ownership model, negotiating with government and developing and testing all the legal documents pro-bono. It is this invaluable support that has enabled us to provide home ownership currently for 20 people, with another 10 homes ready in early 2021. THANK YOU!

06.01.2022 A huge congratulations to our first 'Pathways to Independence' graduates! 7 weeks of fun and learning, supported by our wonderful trainers, volunteers and mentors... I have learnt to look after myself Nan, so now I can get my own place. (participant)... This morning my daughter got off the bus at the wrong stop. She said she was really stressed but then she remembered to ‘stop, breathe, think & act’. She asked for help and is confident she now knows the correct stop. I am so proud of her. 04.01.2022 For our last session for our Feb-April group for Pathways to Independence course, we got to do an Amazing Race full of challenging activities - which was coordinated by our two volunteers! The participants had a huge amount of fun doing this in teams. We then had our award ceremony where parents were welcome to come and watch each participant get rewarded for their unique contribution to the course. It’s been amazing watching them all grow and learn different skills. We would... like to say a massive Thankyou to all of our supporters and sponsors, as we could not have done this without them! Thankyou to Show Pony Events and Black Mountain School - Canberra for generously donating your space for us to use on Sundays. And to Aspen Medical - UAE for your generous donations as well. To our amazing sponsors - John James Foundation and Tall foundation and to the families, mentors and volunteers who put so much time and effort into making this all happen, a huge Thankyou. See more
