24.01.2022 Sparkling Close Completed a few years back, our nod to the master architect, Frank Lloyd Wright and his Robbie House. We have recently been back to site for some new photos and the clients maintenance of the landscape is nothing short of stunning!! An elevated sloping site with amazing views on offer so why not work with large surfaces of high performance double glazed windows to soak up the views and draw in plenty of natural light. 07.01.2022 Conceptual Work Project Now is conceptually exploring ideas and opportunities to help reactivate and repurpose some of Ballarat more tired buildings. Take for example 'Lydiard House' wedged between two grand heritage buildings, where we have generated a highly contemporary, yet respectful and sympathetic facade that clearly acknowledges it is not a replica but of this time. Still borrowing principles of the heritage forms but in a more contemporary way, whist findings ways to align the horizontal elements of the two adjoining buildings and conceal our buildings height with double height glazed elements. The building reads more like a three-storey volume to match the adjoining building rather than the actual 5 storey built it currently is! #render #beforeandafter #concept #lydiard

02.01.2022 Concept render Working in an established and built up area where the larger scale brick homes are the norm, we were challenged to create a modern response whilst respecting the humble brick. love the ‘Hit & Miss’ brickwork detail! Further challenged by the fact this project is actually a terrace townhouse! Concealing the central common / party wall and blurring the lines ensures this building read like one larger scaled built form to match the surrounds. #lumion #customdesign #brick #hitandmiss
