24.01.2022 A great interview with Project Thrive's co-founder Andrea for anyone interested in Positive Psychology and the work we, as a purpose driven organisation do, in creating eco-systems of well-being. 'Faces of Melbourne Graduate School of Education' Clonard College Geelong St Patrick's Primary School, Geelong West

21.01.2022 After 2 years of Skyping, this week I got to meet in person the incredible Scilla Andreen, CEO and producer of IndieFlix and her beautiful daughter Natalie who came all the way from Seattle to Green School Bali to film for her next documentary ‘Upstanders’. I can’t wait for Australian students, parents and schools to engage with this inspirational and impactful global work.

18.01.2022 We Could Not Agree More

15.01.2022 A sneak peak at our big week | Systems Leadership + Wellbeing Science + Education Redesign | Principals Immersion Indonesia

13.01.2022 As educators, well-being experts and parents, we at Project Thrive could not agree more with this.. Don't worry about them regressing in school,". "Every single kid is in this boat and they all will be ok. When we are back in the classroom, we will all course correct and meet them where they are. Teachers are experts at this!" "If I can leave you with one thing, it's this: at the end of all of this, your kids' mental health will be more important than their academic skills. How they felt during this time will stay with them long after the memory of what they did during those weeks is long gone."

11.01.2022 See you this week Queensland! I can’t wait to share our work with the exceptional Rachel Colla at the National Positive Education Schools Association Conference

09.01.2022 Last night I got to chat with Unstuck Learning and Deploy Learning about well-being in their #onlinetogetherau webinar series. Ironically my computer crashed and the power went out BUT the boys nailed it. Educators, parents and students, listen in to hear perspectives from two awesome students, Phil Carew of Toorak College talking on what his school has implemented and Kimberley Hall and Emily MacLean sharing their favourite Chrome extensions for moving around https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qy6AS8hnPbQ&feature=emb_logo

09.01.2022 This Wednesday night IndieFlix will be screening virtually, for the first time in Australia, the award winning global documentary Angst. Raising Awareness Around Anxiety, the documentary is targeted at secondary students and adults and features experts and people from around the globe including a special interview with Michael Phelps. The free screening is followed by an incredible live panel for a Q and A featuring arguably Australia's highest profile psychologist Dr Michael... Carr-Gregg; Ted Talker and global expert in Educational Neuroscience Dr Jared Cooney Horvath; Dr Miriam Rose Ungunmerr AO, a deeply inspirational Aboriginal elder from Nauiyu (Daly River); Director and Emmy nominated film producer Scilla Andreen and Project Thrive's well-being designer and global keynote speaker, Andrea Downie. 08.01.2022 Hacktivation || On May 1st Summer Howarth will be hosting a full day workshop at Zoos Victoria (Werribee) using design thinking to activate students so they can solve the novel and complex problems in the VUCA world they live. This aligns SO well with all the work our amazing collaborating schools are doing and I strongly urge all teachers to check it out. Summer is an exceptional educator, exceptional learning designer and exceptional human being who is a huge support of Project Thrive. The day which is free to Zoo members (or $70 for teachers to join) is one not to miss.

06.01.2022 ‘A growing body of research is showing that it is not so much the quantity of motivation that matters, but rather the quality of motivation. In other words, not all motivation is equal, and some types are better for our well being than others.’ Some great advice from the incredible Lara Mossman on how parents can help motivate their children in sport.

06.01.2022 A HUGE congratulations to the staff and students at St Aloysius Queenscliff who on Thursday night were recognised as ‘Curriculum Leadership Primary School of the Year’ by @vic.sustainability. This was awarded to the senior students at the MCG for their work embedding sustainability into their community On Friday we celebrated all they have achieved over the last 3 years, assessed the impact and intentions and had another great day of well-being science strategy and experiential, authentic learning. Our schools, educators and students are amazing and know It’s ALWAYS better to manage by design than by default.

04.01.2022 This is the second year in a row we have been invited to present at the Australian Well-being in Education Conference, this year in Sydney. We are super proud of the work we do and even prouder of the people and schools we get to work with everyday. We can’t wait to share #pesa2020

02.01.2022 Gee we get to work with some clever people. Check out The Eventful Learning Co for all types of amazing.

02.01.2022 What an honour to be an invited keynote speaker at the 21st Century Learning International Conference in Hong Kong in March exploring innovation in pedagogy & teaching with other educators & eduleaders. In ‘pinch myself’ moments like these I think of the exceptional teachers I had and largely of all the amazing students I have taught. Because of them, I fell in love with education.
