07.01.2022 KEEP YOU DRYER FILTERS CLEAN While we are in the winter months, many people will be using various ways of getting their washing dry. If you choose to use an electric dryer, please make sure you check and clean the filter as recommended by the manufacturer. This is usually every load...!! Dirty and blocked filters dramatically reduce the efficiency of your dryer, which means longer drying times and more power consumption. ... If your filter is torn/split or damaged, it should be replaced. Don't be tempted to pull your washing out in the middle of a cycle. All dryers have a 'cool down' before they finish. This protects your clothes, allows the heater and the clothes to cool down completely. Stay safe.......stay warm

06.01.2022 With Christmas not far away, there maybe some people out there that get the urge to give their oven a bit of a clean. If this is you, feel free to give this a go. 1/ Pre-heat oven to a warm 60C 2/ Place a small bowl on the centre shelf with 1 cup of cloudy ammonia in it. 3/ Place a baking tray on the lower shelf, and half fill with boiling water. 4/ Turn the oven off, close the oven door and leave the ammonia & water in the oven for around 12 hours (overnight).... 5/ In the morning (or whenver) Remove ammonia and water,grab a wet cloth and fine scourer and start cleaning. With a bit of luck, the steam from the boiling water will have mixed with the ammonia and loosen the cooking deposits.. You may still need to use a bit of elbow grease here and there, but this method will certainly make things easier. Have fun

01.01.2022 Hi all, Just getting the word out that there has been a change for our humble local business. For 24 years we have been operating as Bob Ashdown Appliance Repairs. This business is still operating as normal, is based in Morwell with my daughter and son-in-law at the helm. Many people in the Yarram district may have become familiar with that business name. However, the time has come for me to concentrate on the services required in South Gippsland with a new business....... P...ROM COAST APPLIANCE SERVICE. Now based in Port Albert, I have successfully secured the agencies for nearly all the major white goods manufacturers (Fisher & Paykel, Electrolux, Westinghouse, Simpson, Chef, Beko, LG, Technika, Home Appliances, Glen Dimplex, Speed Queen, Maytag) and have a very good working relationship with many other suppliers. PROM COAST APPLIANCE SERVICE area covers the Yarram, Woodside, Won Wron, Welshpool districts. We are happy to travel, but a small fee may be charged for areas a bit further afield. SO.........SAME FRIENDLY RELIABLE SERVICE..... JUST A NEW NAME. We can service and/or repair....commercial & domestic washer & dryers, dishwashers, electric stoves & range hoods. We DO NOT do refrigeration, other than replacing damaged seal, hinges, shelves etc. And finally, many thanks to all the existing local customers that have supported us over the last few years.
