25.01.2022 EXCLUSIVE TO THE COLLECTIVE THE TIME HAS COME! As leaked by the media today, we are pleased to announce that Prom Country Cheese RAW milk cheese, Moyarra Reserve has been given the all clear for release. The first batch will be available to purchase tomorrow, only online via Prom Coast Food Collective. Who will be the first to try this very special semi-hard cheese? At 6 months maturation, it has a golden, smear rind. When cut, texture is close and smooth. A vibrant, floral ...aroma greets the senses, building into a complex caramel finish, with spice lingering on the back palette. The only commercial cheese in Victoria to be uncooked at any stage of the process, all life from their raw Moyarra ewes milk at that time in early Autumn is encapsulated in this simple gourmet delight. https://openfoodnetwork.org.au/prom-coast-food-co-op/shop

Ok, I'll go first Here's Colin, 45 years old, been buying from the Collective since day 1, literally every cycle. "Hey, Col, what's your favourite thing about the Collective?" "Oh, definitely the knowledge that we are supporting a system whic...h directly supports the community in which we live". "Anything else, Col"? "That is makes you happy, Sal, and those Welsh Cakes". Disclaimer: Colin is the husband of one of the founders, Sally...who may or may not have put words into his mouth, coerced an answer with the promise of hot chocolate and generally jollied the whole thing along. Oh, and orders are open: https://openfoodnetwork.org.au/prom-coast-food-co-op/shop See more

01.01.2022 The Anatomy of a Payment and the Ethics in your Order. Hint: Theres no such thing as "free delivery". Ever wondered about the fees on the Collective? Lets break this down. This particular order pictured is for a home-delivered order. Straight to your door from 2.5 hours away in South Gippsland! 1. Legendary status starts with this number.... 2. Admin fee this $5 is all that the Collective has to run the whole shebang. Insurance, accounting fees, website hosting, marketing etc all from here. 3. Shipping this is the amount which we use to pay our farmer/drivers. Did you know that the majority of the delivery drivers on the Collective are also farmers on the Collective? Sending them out on the long trips to Melbourne needs to be a paid gig otherwise our system will not be sustainable. 4. Transaction fee this is the fee from paying via our Stripe system (just like PayPal). 5. Total as in Total Legend. Youve just helped strengthen the local food system and put money back into a regional community. You did it. If these fees didnt exist, the Collective would not be able to pay our farmers the 90% of the retail dollar, which they currently take through sales on the Collective. Why 90%? 1% goes to our sales portal, the Open Food Network, and 9% goes to Amelia and Sally, who run the Collective. Its a big gig and it is getting bigger. We thought about internalising the costs to make the payment section feel friendlier, but we wanted you to be aware of what it takes to get produce to your door. Oh, and theres no such thing as free delivery, those costs have either been hidden from you, the customer, or the system operates on unfair or underpaid wages or volunteers. We as farmers and conscientious workers, will not abide by this. Were female and farmer-led, feisty and fed-up with the current devaluing of food and farmers. So we did something about it. Put your ethics on the table: https://openfoodnetwork.org.au/prom-coast-food-co-op/shop

01.01.2022 Ilan. Chicken farmer extraordinaire. Did you know that Ilan from Mirboo Pastured Poultry has been with the Collective since the very beginning? As a farmer and now also a driver. 01.01.2022 NEW PRODUCT ALERT! Oh yes. Available from tomorrow, when orders open, @sanctuaryatwaratah is offering their incredibly delicious pate, using chicken livers from Mirboo Pastured Poultry. In a reusable glass jar. Ethical food - done right.

01.01.2022 Get to know your farmers and your life will be richer for it. Ray from Seven Acres Farm; scene set designer and signwriter, also accomplished mogul skier! But you might just know him as the excellent grower of leeks, apples... https://openfoodnetwork.org.au/prom-coast-food-co-op/shop
