24.01.2022 With the worst of winter behind us (or am I being a bit optimistic?) bookings are starting to come in from September through to November. If you have any special dates you are thinking of for a trip give us a call or email to see what is available.

23.01.2022 FIRST TRIP FOR SPRING First trip out to Refuge Cove for the Spring. The warming of the water brings the Dolphins and the seals just love basking in the sun. This Saturday the Kraken heads out for a fabulous day on the waves, we will post some photos from the trip. Still seats available for the more adventurous.

22.01.2022 We are running trips every day from Boxing Day through to 8 Jan, weather permitting of course. If you are going to be in the area for holidays, the Prom Coast Discovery Tour is a must. Check us out on Trip Advisor (Kraken Tours - things to do in Foster). There are some wonderful photos from passengers.

22.01.2022 Well the weather is getting colder down here in South Gippsland but dont let that put you off. It means the winds are mostly calmer and the seas a bit more gentle than in the summer. The last few trips have had lovely swells which the Kraken just loves riding and makes for a nice easy comfortable trip. So get out the coats, beanies and scarves and head out for a great trip down the Prom coast.

22.01.2022 If youre not afraid to rug up and brave these wintry times, the coming week is showing some lovely light winds (sorry kiters) which would make the Refuge Cove trip very enjoyable. We have a full trip on Saturday but check out the weather reports for Sunday and get those coats and beanies on and get out into the beautiful waters of South Gippsland with Kraken Tours.

20.01.2022 Gorgeous day out at Refuge Cove today. Water and conditions so good we even got a sneak peek down along Waterloo Bay and the lighthouse. Dropped our passengers off then to hike back from Sealers Cove. Remember that Kraken Tours is always happy to tailor your trips wherever possible.

19.01.2022 Kraken Tours is getting ready for the next season of fun and adventure in South Gippsland. There are waves to ride, Dolphins to spot and seals to wave to. Refuge Cove is an amazing little jewel tucked away at the South East end of Wilsons Promontory. You can hike there from Tidal River if you enjoy walking that far (around 15 km), or you can board the Kraken and have an exhilarating trip out through the waters of Corner Inlet and into the sea where Bass Strait meets the T...asman Sea. The ride is fun, the scenery amazing and we have some wonderful up close wildlife encounters. Bookings are essential and we endeavour to work the trip in to your holiday timeframe in this lovely part of Australia. For fishermen, keep your eye on this spot - we have an exciting new trip heading your way for those who want to spice up their fishing adventure.

18.01.2022 Prom trip today

16.01.2022 The trips at the moment have been terrific. The winds have been pretty low and the waters have been more lovely swells than chop, making for fun trips. The Dolphins have been super friendly and have put on a few shows for our passengers. A great time to be booking a Refuge Cove trip.

15.01.2022 What a gorgeous weekend it has been for the long weekend in South Gippsland. The weather has been perfect for the Prom trips and even a couple of sightseeing trips around the north eastern tip of the prom in Corner Inlet. The photo is the Kraken just heading out of Port Welshpool this morning on the way to Refuge Cove.

15.01.2022 Heading out from Port Franklin, a tiny picturesque little fishing village. This is where the adventure begins.

15.01.2022 Word from the local fishermen last night is that there was a whale sighting in Corner Inlet. If youre keen to try for a sighting of these gorgeous mammals contact Kraken Tours on 0401 376 775, we would be happy to arrange a trip.

14.01.2022 Sometimes you can be lucky and click at just the right time! Dolphin following the Kraken in Corner Inlet.

12.01.2022 Looking for something to do this weekend? Kraken Tours is running short rides from Port Welshpool for the Seadays Festival. Head out to the north eastern tip of the room and have a look around corner inlet. Perfect weekend for it!! Come and have some fun.

12.01.2022 A few photos from our trip last week. We are waiting on some fabulous footage of the close encounter of the dolphin kind from our passengers on Friday. As I had to miss that ride I cant wait to see them myself! Apparently there was a huge pod that wanted to play all day!

11.01.2022 A wonderful dolphin encounter on Sunday. In all there were about ten or twelve dolphins in the pod. My video skills being what they are this is the best I could do, but it was pretty awesome as they played around the boat for ages.

11.01.2022 We have been contacted by Aus Tours, they would like to link us in to one of their tours that leave from Melbourne, head to Phillip Island for one day and night, then over the Wilsons Prom, a half day at the Prom and a half day on our tour. We think this will be a great opportunity for people in the Melbourne and surrounding areas to get down to our part of the world and enjoy all it has to offer.

10.01.2022 Took the grandkids out for a spin last night. All had a ball. As long as we can keep the easterlies at bay this is an awesome time to visit refuge cove. Perfect spot for a swim in pristine waters.

10.01.2022 A few photos from our trips

10.01.2022 Had a great weekend at the Port Welshpool Seadays Festival. It was very hot on Saturday so the rides out on the water with the breeze of the boat and was very welcome to passengers. A couple of lucky rides also had the double delight of seeing a pod of dolphins. Thanks to everyone who participated and your wonderful feedback. Check out our website www.krakentours.com or our Facebook page Prom Coast Discovery Tour to find out more about our small group personal tours to Refuge Cove.

07.01.2022 Not only do we do our fabulous trip down along the Prom coast to beautiful Refuge Cove but the Kraken is available for charter with a skipper for hourly rates with a 3 hour minimum. You can choose where you would like to go, what you would like to do, as long as the skipper thinks the route is safe, off you go! Want to get to a remote fishing spot along the prom coast, cast straight from the beach into a channel known for kingfish? Maybe just want to find a remote spot to take the family for a picnic on your own private beach for a few hours? Drop off at some of the little Islands on the way to Port Albert for an explore, or head to Port Albert and indulge in their renowned fish and chips for lunch. You choose. Theres heaps to see and do and the Kraken is a fun and exciting way to do it!

07.01.2022 Its been a long cold winter down here in South Gippsland and we are looking forward to summer and some awesome trips down to Refuge Cove. What a gorgeous spot! Dont forget the Kraken is also available for private trips and we will also work with you on flexible routes that you can discuss with our skipper. Treat yourself this Spring/Summer and hit the water with Kraken Tours.

06.01.2022 Friday trip was the first trip this season to see the return of our friends the Common Dolphins. We have been seeing our other species of dolphin for a while but it is our friends that come from every direction to ride our bow wave and surf our wake. On this trip there were at least 4 pods taking their turn and new for this season is their trick of jumping alongside boat. An airborne dolphin at shoulder height and 2 metres away at most is a sight.

05.01.2022 Heads up - the weather tomorrow, Sunday, is going to be PERFECT for the Prom Coast Discovery Tour. The wind is as low as we have seen it for a very long time which means the water will be almost like a mill pond lovely and calm for the less adventurous. The boat ride will still be exciting as we skip along at a good pace and we hope the wildlife, seals, penguins, dolphins etc will be out enjoying the calmer waters as well. We have seats available tomorrow and with the weather being the way it is can do either a morning or afternoon trip leaving from Port Welshpool.

04.01.2022 Weve had a busy summer and have been able to take heaps of people out to beautiful Refuge Cove. It never ceases to impress! Now we are into Autumn and the weather is perfect for trips down the coast. The easterlies have backed off making for smoother trips. With the long weekend and Easter coming up we hope to see more new faces and some returning ones. Check out Kraken Tours on Trip Advisor, some of our passengers have posted some great photos.

03.01.2022 Thank you for letting us experience this paradise.

03.01.2022 Great trip out to Refuge Cove yesterday, weather was perfect and the wildlife was out in force. Dolphins played alongside the boat, see the photo, we are still trying to get our video to load (hi tech not our thing!). Our passengers also saw seals, a penguin, Cape barren geese and lots of other bird life. They loved the cove and did some snorkelling saying they saw lots of fish. Another trip out today, hope the wildlife is as friendly. We are having perfect weather for the trip at the moment, low winds, calm seas and lots of sunshine.

03.01.2022 Kingfish! Something new to our trips. Last few trips we have seen big schools of these silvery fish, following in our wake. One school broke the surface in Corner Inlet and the other two schools we saw near Rabbit Rock. It was quite a sight and had some avid fishermen on our trip pretty excited!! Remember Kraken Tours is available to take fishermen out to some remote areas along the Prom Coast to drop off for a few hours of fishing.

03.01.2022 Refuge Cove was certainly the place to be this weekend. The wind was low on Saturday and after manoeuvring through an eerie sea mist we emerged into beautiful sunny Refuge. The water was sparkling and clear and it was the most beautiful spot for a swim to cool off. Such a beautiful spot to spend a hot afternoon.

02.01.2022 High speed boat rides are kicking off for the season down at St. Kilda Pier. Boat will be heading out for some thrills at 1:00 today. If you feel like putting a bit of excitement into your day head down to the pier and hop aboard!

02.01.2022 This photo was shared with us from the owners of the Tardis. Taken on a go pro it shows underwater shots of dolphins in Corner Inlet. What an amazing shot. Thanks Chris and Kerry.
