24.01.2022 Following the factory acceptance testing, TBM 1 is now on its way to Australia. At 205m long and 11m in diameter, its large by global standards and has been sp...ecially designed to tunnel on an incline. Thanks to Herrenknecht AG for the kit and great to hit another milestone with our principal contractor Future Generation Joint Venture - Webuild and Clough. #tunnelling #snowy2 #tbm #renewableenergy

22.01.2022 BIG DELIVERY ALERT! The first of our Snowy 2.0 tunnel boring machine parts have arrived in the Snowy Mountains Several pieces of the eye-catching blue a...nd white cutterhead were transported from Cooma, heading to the Lobs Hole construction site, and police escorted a convoy of three trucks with wide loads - the 4.6m tailskin parts - along the Snowy Mountains Highway. These components are part of the 137m-long TBM which will excavate the main access tunnel. #renewableenergy #tunnelling #infrastructure

13.01.2022 Setting up Adept Civil Groups axis guided boring machine. A proven trustworthy machine by Vermeer, the AXIS system consists of the vacuum power unit, vacuum tank and the rack power unit all compacted onto a simple trailerised system. Located in the launch pit is the core of the AXIS system, which is made up of the rack, drill casings, drill head and pipe laser. This will be working its way through the fields in Delacombe, Victoria Australia. #Civil #Vermeer #AxisGuided #Tunnelling #Electrician

10.01.2022 Friday flashback to this project which involves our client, John Holland Pty Ltd, building a 2.4-kilometre-long large-diameter sewer pipe at depths of up to 35 metres with a AVN1200 and AVN1800 machine by Herrenknecht. The pipe is being constructed by tunnelling underground using Micro Tunnel Boring Machines (MTBMs), and the tunnel involves crossing under the Merri Creek and Hume Freeway. Great job by all involved on this project. #Construction #Herrenknecht #Electrician #YarraValleyWater #NoDigDownunder

10.01.2022 In a milestone for the Snowy Hydro expansion, the green light was given today for construction of the underground power station and tunnels. The project will cr...eate up to 2,000 jobs, providing a huge boost to the region at a time when it needs it most. www.7NEWS.com.au #7NEWS

09.01.2022 Follow the journey of our four tunnel boring machines (TBMs) that will build the Metro Tunnel and transform Melbournes transport network. The massive machines will be working hard underground to construct the projects twin 9km tunnels.

09.01.2022 Great progress has been made at Fed Square :-) Our road header is currently excavating underneath Flinders Street from our Fed Square shaft to create an underground passenger connection for the new Town Hall Station.

08.01.2022 If all six of Snowy 2.0s generating units are running, the station will pass 380 cubic metres of water per second. Thats enough water to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool in just seven seconds!

07.01.2022 When Art goes Boldly Underground! ( Sound ON!) We’ve partnered with @brisbanefestival to find some new and innovative ways of reminding the public about constr...uction at our worksites. And this one off performance by the @camerata_qco in the tunnel cavern at our Woolloongabba site is quite simply STUNNING. You can catch Camerata on Saturday afternoon at South Bank Parklands too and there is more detail on the Brisbane Festival website https://bit.ly/3jD4hXm : Apis Australis, by Brisbane composer John Rotar. Performed by Camerata - Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra as part of Brisbane Festival, on location at the Cross River Rail Woolloongabba worksite. September 2020

07.01.2022 TBM Joan has her crown once more! The 100 tonne cutterhead has made its way back from Kensington by truck and was reinstalled at Arden, ready to be pushed into the launch ring.

07.01.2022 At more than 80 tonnes each, these transformers needed two prime movers to be delivered to the Snowy 2.0 construction site. They will be installed at an onsite... electricity substation and used to convert the electricity from 330kV down to 33kV, producing 80 megavolt amps (MVA). When the Snowy 2.0 Power Station is built, it will have 250-tonne transformers producing 450MVA! #snowy2 #constructions #transformers

06.01.2022 Looking ship-shape! With Snowy 2.0 well underway, we are excited that the first of three tunnel boring machines which will excavate 40km of tunnels for our majo...r pumped-hydro renewable energy project has arrived at Port Kembla. Thanks to NSW Ports for capturing the big lift - pretty impressive considering some of the TBM components weigh up to 174 tonnes! #tunnelling #tbm #snowy2 #portkembla Webuild Clough Fracht Australia Pty Ltd

06.01.2022 Number Five is Alive! This week Roadheader FIVE set off on her journey into the rock under Albert Street. That means we now have five roadheaders at three... separate worksites busy digging the tunnels and stations that will be Brisbanes new underground. http://bit.ly/2LPMRYi

04.01.2022 Safe and sound onsite! The Snowy 2.0 transformers that travelled through Cooma and Adaminaby last week are now at the Lobs Hole construction site. The transformers will soon be installed and commissioned before we start tunnelling later this year. #snowy2 #transformers #construction

03.01.2022 The Prompt Team have once again safely designed, installed, commissioned and delivered on time to our clients at Bothar Boring and Tunnelling Australia. We are excited to be starting the Lockerbie Main Sewer Project, North Melbourne, Victoria for the Broadspectrum Jaydo Joint Venture (BRISJAY). As part of Yarra Valley Waters sewer pipeline which will cater for growth between Donnybrook and Beveridge in Melbournes northern growth area, Bothars AVN1200 will travel 2.65km underground installing a DN1400 GRP pipe for this essential infrastructure upgrade. #tunneling #infrastructure #infrastructureprojects #trenchless #herrenknecht #electricians
