24.01.2022 These photo's show how important accurate installation is, The installer here missed by only 3mm but it was enough to damage internal parts and ruin a perfectly good lock. The photo on the left shows the original holes (lower) and the correction I had to make (top). The slight misalignment was enough to cause the broken part pictured right. A simple rule of thumb with any lock is "if you have to force or jiggle your lock, its not working" get it fixed before it becomes a bigger more expensive problem. What should have been a simple labour charge to fix $110 at most turned into a $400 install of a new lock.

19.01.2022 There's an investigation underway after more than 100 motorists in Joondalup were locked out of their cars in mysterious circumstances.

18.01.2022 I have been a very busy boy this last couple of months in an effort to upgrade equipment in order to provide better service to my customers. I am happy to announce that Pronto Locksmiths can now program transponer keys for 80% of the australian market. So if you have only 1 key now is the time to do something about it and save hundreds on the cost of having keys made onsite.

16.01.2022 Unqualified locksmiths are fleecing home owners and renters out of big money by posing as legitimate businesses and offering services they are not properly trained for. https://www.domain.com.au//if-it-sounds-too-cheap-it-is-/

15.01.2022 Just some friendly advice folks. I recieved a phone call from a guy yesterday complaining that the keys he had just had made were not programmed (another locksmith not me). Unfortunately his wife had already paid the locksmith with out checking the car started. If you are having keys made make sure your car starts or the locksmith makes a commitment to re-attend if it wont start. Going on the price the locksmith charged him (about $100 less than I can do it for) its possible the locksmith in question only quoted to make the physical key with the intention of pulling a "bait and swtich" manoeuvre. Once you have a locksmith on your doorstep it is very difficult to back out of the arrangement. If you are going for the cheapest price make sure you know what you are buying!!!

11.01.2022 Bwahahaha feel free to zoom in on the note to see the box ticked secure! The shiny thing off to the right are the keys left in the ignition!!!! Took me 20 minutes to open the car 18 minutes laughing 2 minutes to unlock it!

10.01.2022 Beware the BMW!!! The poor owner of this car found out the hard way just how difficult european cars can be. After calling a plethora of other locksmiths who all said they couldn't do it he finally got onto Pronto. These BMW's use a microswitch inside the door lock to open the car once the key is turned. In this particular case his car battery terminals had corrosion on them and the car had no power. Even with a key he could not open his car. Because he couldn't open his car... he couldn't pop the bonnet to get to the battery which resulted in a rather uncomfortable night with his car left un-attended in a car park while he tried to sleep (which he didn't). BMW owners please maintain your battery so this does not happen to you Just a footnote the same situation can arise if you leave your lights on too.

09.01.2022 The Scenario - The alleged locksmith arrives to do the job, usually in an unbranded vehicle, often in streetwear and without presenting any kind of identifica...tion. The person will attempt to open the door, or vehicle (or pretend to try) before informing the consumer that the service fee only covers their initial attempt and additional charges will apply. If the consumer agrees to further costs, the scammer will generally use force to open the door or vehicle, often causing irreparable damage. To make matters worse, the scammer will then charge the consumer an exorbitant fee, demands immediate payment and issues a receipt without GST, business name, ABN or contact details. These people are not professional locksmiths they are scammers and often backpackers, students, and even tourists. Unfortunately, there is very little the consumer can do other than lodge a claim with the relevant consumer affairs authority, but as the scammers are unregistered and unlicensed, the chances of getting any money back are very slim. So whenever you or your family need a locksmith in a hurry, hire an industry professional. You can find one here: www.lga.org.au/locate-locksmith

06.01.2022 AMSEC safe I just opened. Customer is very lucky. He hasn't had his safe services for about 5 years. To dial open and service safe is a matter of a couple of hundred bucks. To drill open one of these is a matter of thousands $$$ The moral of the story is always have safe serviced every 12 months it's far cheaper than drilling one open and far less intrusive in your business.

06.01.2022 A shout out to Louie and the gang from Logan house fire support network. These guys are the behind the scene's heroes working hard to help people back on their feet after loosing everything in a fire. Please share and support them!

04.01.2022 This is a useful tool, you can search by postcode, crime type, city and time frame and heaps of other useful filters. I was stunned to find 8 unlawful entry reports in 4 years on my street alone! Its a small street with maybe 30 houses.

02.01.2022 Electronic striker I installed into tricky frame. And a gate I fitted a hydraulic closer too. A challenging job.
