The events industry has seemingly vanished overnight and we're staring at a very blank diary for the next few months, we know so many of our great friends are in the same boat. As professional musicians who rely on live performance to feed our families and pay mortgages, it's going to be tough.... 06.01.2022 Over the past 24 hours you may have seen buildings and local landmarks bathed in red. This was to bring awareness to our industry. The events industry. An industry that is seriously suffering at the moment. 73% of event businesses have reported a revenue downturn of 75% - 100% in the last 6 months.... We're down 81%, on this time last year. WA is doing "OK", however in the past 24 hours we've had 5 major events cancel on us. We're certainly not out of the woods, not by a long shot. So, what can you do about it at a grass roots level? If you see something happening locally and you have the means to do so, buy a ticket. See the show. Head out and support a local event. It could be a food truck rally, local community event, theatre show, conference, restaurant opening, dance recital... anything. Thanks Peace and love.
