22.01.2022 5 INGREDIENTS FOR A HIGH PERFORMING HOMEPAGE Never under estimate the power of a well structured website homepage. You want your homepage to draw your customer in, be easy to navigate, clear in direction and ultimately get your target consumer completing the actions you want them to (e.g. purchasing or enquiring). Here are 5 things to include on your high performing website homepage...... HAVE AN EASY TO NAVIGATE NAV BAR: you’d be surprised how many websites have their nav bar hidden away or in a non-sensical order. It’s called a nav bar for a reason, so it can be navigated with ease - so make sure your site is living up to that! MAKE YOUR MAIN CALL TO ACTION BUTTON ABOVE THE FOLD: You want to try and get your users to the main website goal fast, so offer them up your main call to action above the fold (AKA: before they need to scroll to find it). INCLUDE PICTURES OF PEOPLE: Just like on social, people connect with people! So be sure to include pictures of yourself or your team on the homepage. INCLUDE SOCIAL PROOF IN THE FORM OF TESTIMONIALS: For the consumer who may need a bit more winning over, sway them with awesome testimonials! FEATURE BEST SELLING PRODUCTS OR SERVICES: Don’t leave your consumers hunting for what they’re likely going to want to find. Have your best sellers front and centre so they can act fast and head to checkout or an enquiry form. Now, this isn’t the penultimate list... but its enough to get you started! 20.01.2022 Do you trust your gut? Recently, there are some cases where I haven’t... and it’s come back to bite me! Usually, I’m pretty good at trusting those instincts when it comes to life or parenting. But when it comes to business? I second guess myself... then third guess... then fourth and fifth and sixth and... you get the picture... I think it’s largely because of the type of work that I do; I play in numbers, reporting and spreadsheet land. In my head, business de...cisions should come down to the cold hard facts, right? But, what if truly authentic and profitable business decisions actually came from learning to listen to that little voice inside? As I continue to march on into my second year of business, I think that’s one thing I’ll be trying to bring to the forefront a little bit more. Trying to tune into my intuition and really take time to analyse all feelings, those from my head and from my heart. Tell me, are you a bit like me when it comes to making business decisions? 10.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS: WE’RE HIRING! That’s right, I’m in the hunt for a Digital & Social Media Marketing Assistant. Propel Digital is seeking a new member to add to their growing team. This brand-new role is an exciting opportunity for someone with the right mix of qualifications and/or experience. If you are creative, inquisitive, love connecting with online communities through social media, with an always be learning attitude, we would love to hear from you! Propel Di...gital is based in Wangaratta, North East Victoria. We'd LOVE to find regional applicant to fit this role, however, it certainly can be under-taken remotely. Working closely with Propel Digital Founder, Lauren Begley, you will have creative freedom to grow and push the boundaries of this newly created role. This is an expression of interest application process. As such, the hours of service and requirements of the role will be determined by the applications that are presented to Propel Digital. Ideally however, this position would start as part time with the idea to grow. Please provide as much detail as possible within your application. The ideal applicant: + Is interested in expanding their work in digital and social media marketing. + Has experience developing and curating engaging content for social media platforms. + Is familiar with the Facebook Ads Manager platform through prior experience. + Understands how to interpret data to analyse results and provide insights. + Has experience maintaining a unified brand voice across different online media channels. + Has experience with graphic editing software including Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator & more. + Photography and video editing skills are ideal, but not required. 08.01.2022 The Rural City of Wangaratta has recently announced grants for local business to provide financial support for those adversely affected by January’s bushfires and of course the devastation of COVID-19 (I just want to hug my friends again ) There are two streams available; community support & business support. Let’s talk business. Business support has several different categories, but here are some that apply to the digital space. Online & E-Commerce ($1k - $5k)... Costs associated with online and e-commerce activities including the purchase of hardware, software and services in any of the following areas: Website design and development E-commerce platforms (selling online and receiving payments) Online content development (web pages, mobile apps, audio and visual media) Mentoring and training in online and e-commerce activities Digital marketing and promotion Training & Professional Development ($1k - $2k) Costs associated with increasing and enhancing staff capability to better prepare for return to business activities. Examples include: Online learning, webinars Attendance at training courses, workshops and forums In-house courses delivered by a qualified external provider or other training Other Projects ($1 - $10k) 50% of costs associated with initiating innovative projects that will maximise local jobs and build business resilience and opportunities in a post bushfire and COVID-19 economy. 07.01.2022 SOCIAL MEDIA TREND: LONG FORM CAPTIONS ON INSTAGRAM Photos and videos have always come first on Instagram but, oftentimes, it’s the caption that makes or breaks your post. That’s because the story you tell on Instagram is just as important as the images and videos you share it provides context, adds personality, and can even inspire your followers to take action.... One of the biggest trends to hit Instagram in 2019 was creators and brands tapping into the power of long-form captions to engage and connect with their followers and this trend has only continued into 2020! Of course, not every caption needs to be a novel. Sometimes, a short caption is all you need it really depends on your brand and the content you’re sharing! 07.01.2022 SWIPE FOR AUGUST ADS SUCCESS! Client 1: I have been working with this business for 5 months now. I can legit say this fashion retailer is THE MOST lovely client - which makes getting these types of results for her all the more rewarding! Over my time with this client, I have helped them gain over $30 in revenue attributed to their ads (which is a 17x return on their overall ad spend). Client 2: This client has dabbled in ads before but it’s only since ISO that... we’ve really had to take it up a notch online. The results? Well, they speak for themselves... Client 3: August is my second month in working with this client. Now, usually, it takes quite a few months to see these kind of results. But a revised ad strategy, creative approach and optimisation tactics have resulted in some stellar number straight outta the gate. Most importantly, we’ve raised their average monthly return on ad spend from x4 to x12 within the space of two months! To say I’m stoked that we’re stoked at the results is an understatement.
