16.01.2022 When we started Propertyworks four and a half years ago, I was so excited to be in charge of my own destiny! I was solely responsible for achieving the best results and making my clients happy. I was also responsible for any problems, challenges and mistakes. As the business grew, there was one challenge that scared me more than any other- staffing! At some stage I was going to get to a point where I couldn't continue to provide my standard of service on my own. How would we ...structure it? Would I need to hire another Property Manager, or could we all work in one team? I had seen so many small Property Management businesses fall down at the point of expansion where new team members were brought on. Though we're generally fabulous Property Managers, some small business owners aren't great at hiring, training and motivating fantastic staff to continue providing excellent service. Prior to 2020 I'd been lucky enough to receive casual help from family, friends and associates, but the only full-time team member was little old me. Towards the end of least year, I was exhausted working 7 days a week and trying to respond promptly to tasks and communications. This year I've been blessed with the opportunity to bring on the full-time attentions of both Kristy AND Hamish! We've each known each other personally and professionally for more than half a decade, and together bring over 25 years of experience to the table.
