25.01.2022 Working with our senior dogs is so rewarding but mostly its about the small challenges to give us results. A simple activity like the egg carton involves a whole range of movements, front legs lifting, neck and shoulders, rear legs moving not only backwards but sideways as well. Senior dogs rock!

22.01.2022 Balance, coordination, core strength work for Mr Biggie.

18.01.2022 Proprioception tip - Stepping up, stepping down is a fab little exercise to obtain a leg lift/raise. The trick with a frenchie is to get them to slow down so that we are exercising the muscles and just using momentum. Treat placement can absolutely help us achieve this outcome.

16.01.2022 Teaching dogs to do proprioception at floor level is essential before we start to add in any equipment or height. Biggie is smashing this exercise.

15.01.2022 Shelby and mum are learning a new exercise which takes a little perfecting but we made a great pick up on Shelby's range of flexibility, it is much greater on one side than the other. Given this mum has to really watch Shelby's feet and weight change to determine at what point she should not take the stretch beyond.

12.01.2022 Helping Dogs & Puppies 'move' through life better! Proprioception Training & K9 Fitness Membership goes online. Now you to can enjoy the benefit of this at home with your own dogs. See below for more details on what you will learn or go to our course page.... http://mannersnmore.thinkific.com//proprioception-membersh

10.01.2022 Biggie has advanced from his basic balance cushion work so we are now progressing him to stepping backwards onto the balance cushion with a small duration into a sit with duration. You will see that there is lot of muscle movements and of course training that goes into this exercise.

10.01.2022 Mr Big is smashing his advanced proprioception exercises. This exercise is fab for balance.

06.01.2022 Todays new set up - Balance, coordination, concentration, 3 of my favourite things to incorporate in to every proprioception class.

03.01.2022 Since starting proprioception training with Daxi he has a new lease on life. Every Wednesday Daxi is at the door waiting for boost into the car, he pulls into the driveway at Manners 'n' More and 'squeaks' with excitement. We have structured gentle exercise to work specific areas of his body and we listen and observe what Daxi wants to do and doesn't want to do. What Daxi says, goes! Proprioception for seniors, want to have a go, check out our events page for upcoming Have a Go sessions.

02.01.2022 Playgrounds are a fab way to find impromptu proprioception opportunities - Shelby working on some flexibility.

01.01.2022 Taking time to check in with our dogs and their bodies before we begin working is critical to our dogs daily care, as case study student Bronte and mum found out yesterday.

01.01.2022 Senior dogs proprioception! Daxi & I went back to some of his early training to create proprioception exercises. The touch hand still one of the most versatile exercises we can teach any dog. A simple touch, not to far gets Daxi to reach forward, touch to the left and touch to the right and we have a head turn that is actually well aligned/straight.... Loving senior dog proprioception.
