20.01.2022 **STOLEN** Some time over the w'end from Friday 3pm to today Prop Shop was broken into! A huge amount of bronze propellers were stolen, locks were jimmied & our huge front gates opened. If anyone see's a bulk lot of props, either at scrap metal or for sale (we lost approx 50-60) please let us know. We have made a police report but you could help us by sharing the shit out of this!!!

17.01.2022 From the BIA Boating Industry Association MONDAY UPDATE - FURTHER CLARITY ON EASING OF RESTRICTIONS... Further to yesterday’s announcement, there has been some further clarity provided by government. Some are still being sought. SERVICING - TYPES INCLUDED Please note this wording as circulated yesterday Boat maintenance: marine and specialist mechanics permitted to operate when required for safe operation including scheduled/logbook inspections. This morning government officials, via a video hook up, confirmed that this extends beyond the reference to mechanics, and indeed covers all boat maintenance type services that provide a service toward safe operation. We’ve asked for the wording to be slightly adjusted so it is even clearer. We do however have confirmation that it covers all servicing and maintenance that impacts the safety and the resulting safe operation. (It will not include cosmetic maintenance that does not relate to safe operation). SERVICING - BEYOND 5KM In terms of the 5km factor - People are expected to have their boats serviced within 5km. - However, for many reasons relating to specialist expertise, or knowledge of the specific make/model/type, this will not be possible. - In that case, the boat can be transported more than the 5km limit. - This is the same for cars. It is permitted. - The government’s preference is that they be transported by the service provider, however, that is not mandatory. Just preferred. SERVICING - ON-WATER TESTING - If an on-water test relates to servicing, and the on-water test is a requirement of the servicing process, then yes, it would be permitted. - The on-water test would go toward the safety aspect of the service and that would add to the case that yes, it can take place. - It must be with a COVIDsafe plan and permitted workers of course. - The customer cannot attend. BOATING/FISHING - There has been a great deal of conjecture and confusion around this as - Fishing is allowed stated by the Premier yesterday. - Use of non-powered vessels is allowed it already was prior to yesterday for paddle etc. - We are continuing to work with government to understand if this can relate to non-powered and powered vessels, so long as, under the current exercise rules, it is 5km from home and for no longer than two hours. We have not been able to understand why this distinction has been made, and why there is a reference to non-powered. Nor can we find written confirmation of it. As a result, we have appealed to the Minister for clarity, in the hope that non-powered and powered can be treated the same as we can see no logic to separating them. We will keep you posted.

04.01.2022 RESTRICTIONS EASED - BOATING 11/05/20 1:30 pm The Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has advised that outdoor activities involving groups under 10 people can take... place from midnight Tuesday 12 May. This means that with social distancing in place, boating can return to Victorian Waters. The Premier specifically said You can go out in your tinny, so long as you practice social distancing, during his 11am press conference this morning (11 May). Our understanding is that this extends to all forms of boating whether it be tow sport related, sailing (small crews), fishing, cruising or just going to a marina berthed vessel (however not for overnight stays and without clubhouses being opened). We would assume also that charter and tourism activities that can provide social distancing on board, and keep groups under 10, should be good to resume. Validating this is a comment from the Boating Minister on her Facebook page as follows - Jaala Pulford MP - "For the avoidance of doubt, fishing and boating are allowed, so long as appropriate physical distancing is maintained". BIAV has been calling for this progress for some weeks now and we are delighted that the Premier has made this announcement today, as part of the first step toward recovery. To read the Premier’s announcement, which we applaud, please visit https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/statement-from-the-premier-/ We thank the Premier, the Boating and Fishing Minister Jaala Pulford, the Better Boating Victoria CEO Gary Gaffney, and all other government officials that have worked toward this step being reached. We also acknowledge the efforts of all industry and boating community members that have acted in the interests of this happening. BIAV encourages all members of the boating community to act sensibly, to follow the social distancing requirements, adopt heightened hygiene measures, and stay safe as you return to Victoria’s magnificent waterways.

03.01.2022 Thanks WantedWake , go see them then come see us!
