25.01.2022 Well it finally seems like I'm getting somewhere with the new garage. Shelving moved and repacked in its final position. .. still some spring out to do. Got my work bench up and starting to get some tools put away. ..

25.01.2022 Well, lots has been going on behind the scenes this year. But we are in full swing of getting the car ready for the Alpine. Been really slack again with a lack of posts. Look forward to lots of updates over the next few weeks as we work our magic on the mighty Datto.

24.01.2022 Well this is unusual for us. Multiple posts within a week... but we are really getting somewhere with the new workshop. Shelves are now all in place and stacked. We have even got out own car in and giving it some tlc. After being parked outside in the weather for 3 years we now have space in the new workshop. We are now just about ready to start back up and get some work in and some more cars in to work on.

24.01.2022 All set up and ready to go. I am sitting beside James Rooke in the mighty Trolla today at the Ada River Rally. Looking forward to having my first run in the VRC should be a bit of fun.

23.01.2022 Well that's today done and dusted. The car and all the panels are now painted. We have been lucky with the weather God's who have been on our side the last 3 or 4 days to enable us to get it done. Unfortunately we did make a slight miscalculation with the paint and fell about half a litre short. This just means that we were unable to get the outside of the doors painted. However we well have a little time to do that while the car get a wiring harness. Tomorrow it get wheels and maybe even an engine! Stay posted we will have more tomorrow.

22.01.2022 It's another busy weekend here at Pro Rally Motorsport getting our mezzanine in place. We are now at the stage where we are looking for a commercial electrician to help us with some lights and power points. If you know anyone that may be interested please comment or shoot us a message, as we'd love to help out another small business!

22.01.2022 Hi everyone, Here at Pro Rally we have been working for the last few years towards getting ourselves set up in a larger workshop. It is with great pleasure that we can announce that this dream is now a reality having secured a location in Knoxfield . The road to this milestone has been long and we would never have made it here without the support of our wonderful customers and supporters. Thankyou to everyone that's helped us along the way, we truly appreciate all of you. ... We are aiming to be open for work by mid November however this will be subject to the restrictions in place within Melbourne at that time. Stay tuned as we will share updates on our progress and opening dates in the coming weeks.

22.01.2022 Well it's a little rough around the edges so don't look to closely, but it is finally in primer and all one colour! A quick rub back to smooth it out and give the place a really good clean and we can get the top coat on! Moving forward we hope to get the engine in early next week and then of to the auto elec to get it running.

22.01.2022 Well it was another big and busy day yesterday. We had the windscreen and rear window fitted. The sticker maestro, Golly came and worked some magic. Now it's starting to look like a real rally car. The list of things to do is down to about half a page. Should be good fun, it's almost done!

20.01.2022 Some more work done on the project car.

19.01.2022 Feels a bit like a laundromat in here.... but we are getting a nice gloss on the panels...

18.01.2022 Its beginning to look like a Datsun again. We got the brakes all bled up after a minor leak where I used the wrong adapter that didnt seal by mistake. A reasonable pedal, for the first bleed at least. Most importantly however the engine and gearbox are all bolted in. A couple of little things tomorrow and we send it to the auto elec.

18.01.2022 It's been a big week at the new home of Pro Rally Motorsport, as we were able to finish all the painting needed to brighten up the space! We're now all ready to start building our mezzanine and fitting out our kickass workshop.

15.01.2022 Another day and some more done on the Datto. We have now fitted the correct front struts. We have now finished all the brake lines. All the brake calipers have been reconditioned and it now just needs to be bled up. The diff and half shafts are all in. The fuel lines are finished, just need to put the correct fitting on for the fuel pump. The fuel tank and filler went in nice and easy as did the tail lights. We were aiming to get the engine in today, but didn't quite make it. Tomorrow we will bleed the brakes, bolt some wheels on and get the engine in!

15.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! Whilst I have been back working for the last week and a bit, I decided not to post it as we have been finishing off the tidying and sorting out that we started at the end of last year. I have also been trying to catch up and finish off those little things that we started and didn't get around to doing. More updates in the works and coming soon.

13.01.2022 Well its taken a little longer than expected but the engine for our friends at Alpha Theta rover crew is now all back together. Just need to pick up a new rear main seal tomorrow, bolt on the flywheel and clutch. Then back into the car.

13.01.2022 Well we are loaded up and now on the road. Next stop Stawell for the HRA Grampians tour. Looking forward to having a steer on the Pro Rally Motorsport Datsun 180B. 12.01.2022 Note to self. ... tighten the rocker cover before starting the engine. ... but at least the new gemini engine started and ran first time. Sounds really nice. No nasty noises. Time to call it a night and ill clean up the oil in the morning

12.01.2022 We decided it was time to upgrade the press, so we now have a 20ton hydraulic press capable of pressing wheel bearings onto solid axles. Now we just need to rearrange some stuff to find somewhere to keep it.....

12.01.2022 Following what has been a rather busy second half of the year, I have decided to close up for the festive season earlier than normal. I would like to thank all of our customers and friends for your continued support this year. I am going to take some time out and have what I think is a well earned rest. We will be back working as normal in early January. We wish everyone a safe holiday season and look forward to the new year and the 2018 rally season.

10.01.2022 Well it has been a busy couple of months here working on lots of different projects, but we are pleased to say that the big project we have been working on finally made its debut last weekend at the Akademos Rally & final round of the Victorian Rally Championship. The car is as awesome as we thought it would be, and I had the privilege of being asked to Co-Drive for Joel in the event. Unfortunately it wasn't quite the dream run we were hoping for with the diff letting us down... half way into the 4th stage. Whilst this is a minor set back, we will continue to work on getting the car ready for its next event. We would like to take this time to really thank Joel for the opportunity to build his new car and also numerous people that have helped us to get this project completed, Joel Wald, Matt DeVaus for his continous support and advice, John Ellis for another faultless wiring harness, Hollinger Engineering for the sensational gearbox, Randy Groenmeyer for getting the best out of the engine with a stunning tune, Robert Ellis for always being willing to drop in and give us a hand with 2 person jobs. Brendan Reeves for helping us out with the setup of the MCA suspension, and of course my partner Jess for putting up with me through out. Golly and John B-Team Media See more

10.01.2022 Well it has been a few days since we let you know how we are going with the Alpine Datsun build. We were going to post last week that it was on the trailer heading to the auto elec... but it was raining. It's now back and all systems tested and the car runs. YAY!. We have had a couple of helpers in our driver Paul, and one of our service crew Andrew here the last couple of days helping with the 2 person jobs of doors and seats as well as other bits and bobs. We are now a shoe in to make it to official scrutiny on Saturday.

10.01.2022 Well we finished the Grampians tour. Was a great event, I highly recommend that if you get the chance to be part of Graham's next event, you take it. It was a blast, I learnt a lot about the car and just how different it is to the 120Y.. but I started to get some confidence in how it would react and and was really giving it a go toward the end of the day today. It looks like we finished 18th O/R. A really positive result for my first time out in the car. A massive thanks to Joel for pointing to the correct roads all weekend, a supurb effort. Thanks again to Rob for looking after the car and making sure we had what we needed in the breaks. Congrats to John and Keith on a well deserved 1st O/R. Once again thanks to Graham and the Historic Rally Association for putting on yet another terrific event.

09.01.2022 It's beginning to look like a Datsun again. We got the brakes all bled up after a minor leak where I used the wrong adapter that didn't seal by mistake. A reasonable pedal, for the first bleed at least. Most importantly however the engine and gearbox are all bolted in. A couple of little things tomorrow and we send it to the auto elec.

08.01.2022 Well it finally seems like Im getting somewhere with the new garage. Shelving moved and repacked in its final position. .. still some spring out to do. Got my work bench up and starting to get some tools put away. ..

08.01.2022 I am sure most will be wondering, did the 180b make it to scruitiny for the Alpine yesterday? I can assure you it did make it. The car has passed and we have recieved our green card to start the event on Friday down in Lakes Entrance. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have helped us get the car done in such a short turn around. In no particular order my partner Jess, Ash at Mooorabbin Auto Spares, Paul (our tame racing driver), Joel at MMJ for his ...support, Andrew and his partner Nichola our service crew, John at Rallycom, Cat at CE conveyancing, and Rob for his grunt plus offering to be our nominated official. A huge thanks must also go to Paul "Golly" Mollison for the awesome sign work on the car. Thanks also to all those I may have missed, my friends and family for putting up with my absence at functions allowing me to keep working on the car. See more

06.01.2022 Well another busy day here, finally feel like we are getting somewhere with the Datsun. Following a little setback by reconditioning the wrong strut body's, we have now got the right ones ready to go in. We have fitted all the doors and panels, In order to check the lines match and the all fit ok. We are by no means panel beaters. We are however pretty happy with how it is coming along. Tomorrow we mask and start the final preperations towards the top coat.

06.01.2022 Some on board from last weekends Eildon Stages. Well done to Viv and Martin on a well deserved 2nd O/R for the event. A Very good start to season 2016, bring on Mitta Mountain Rally on May 14th. a little bit of work to do before then though.

05.01.2022 One of our customers called to say he had a little something to drop off, needless to say we are always happy to have these little somethings dropped off. So thanks. We will try not to loose these ones!

03.01.2022 Well we made it to the end of day 1. The car is running ok, have a few issues with the new webers the are running too rich. Unfortunatly we are not able to fix that up here. Joel is doing a great job on the maps. I have made a few small driver errors due to inexperience. But ultimately all is going well. Just filling in some time before dinner, then onto tomorrow.

03.01.2022 Well I meant to post this yesterday. We finished the Ada River Rally. A fantastic selection of roads used. An awesome event that we would love to run again.
