24.01.2022 All hail King Lloyd! Great to see him featured in the Big Bash's Local Legends segment. Thanks to Mel Dwyer and the Junior Cricket Club for submitting Llyod into the segment. Without Mr Fox, our club simply wouldn't operate. Thanks Lloyd for all that you do!

24.01.2022 The Kelsey Creek Dump Chooks took on the star studded touring Wanderers Cricket Club over the weekend. Wanderers run the toss and batted first, with Michael Toolis (64) and Christian Murphy (101 not out retired) leading the way to all out for 287. Bryce Fraser (3/15) and Jono Cutting (3/8) led the way for the Chooks bowling, with youngsters Keyra Smith (0/32 off 5 overs), Max Nosworthy (1/42 from 4 overs) and Michael Pettiford (0/43 off 5 overs) spending valuable time rolling... the arm over. The Chooks were all out for 188 runs with Scott Hardy stranded on 99 not out, led down by Craig Brown who attempted to wind back the clock and slog over mid off. Jono Cutting was the next best with 18, whilst Keyra Smith posted a well made 16 runs. Luke Feldman (ex QLD Bulls player, 2/22), Tyran Eggmolesse (3/22) and Tim Agapow (3/38) were the pick of Wanderers bowlers. A good amount of fun was had by all and a great effort by the Chooks against a team comprising of many first grade and state players.

14.01.2022 With the 2020/2021 cricket season fast approaching, the Kelsey Creek Dump Chooks (Proserpine representative team) took on the Old Bulls (former Brahman’s Rugby League Players). Winning the toss and sending the Old Bulls into bat, the runs were not flowing freely for the Old Bulls, however they ensured that the Dump Chooks would have to work for their wickets. ‘MC’ O’Brien (16) and Mark Porter (54 not out) put together a well-constructed partnership before Dale Mengel (1/17) m...ade the breakthrough. Liam Davies (1/10), Craig Brown (1/8), John Steele (1/20)and Cory Lucht (1/7) all shared in the wickets for the Chooks. Josh Large (16) and Randal ‘Red’ Porter (19 not out) provided some support to MC as the Old Bulls climbed their way 5/147 at the end of their 22 over innings. The Dump Chooks were quick to get off the mark as Aaron Regan (35) and John Steele (17) put on 51 runs for the opening wicket before both Regan and Steele fell in quick succession with Billy Boyd (1/20) and the Porter family Simon Porter (1/18), Mark Porter (1/23) and Reuben Porter (1/24) shared in the wickets for the Old Bulls. Dump Chooks stalwart and Club President Craig Brown wound back the clock to retire on 57 not out, joined in the club house with Regan Knight (54 not out) also reaching his half-century. The Dump Chooks brought up victory in the 13th over before both teams called it a day 5 overs later with the Chooks finishing on 6/195 with 4 overs still up their sleeve. Both the Kelsey Creek Dump Chooks and Old Bulls have thrown out the challenge to the Whitsunday Sea Eagles or Whitsunday Bald Eagles AFL teams to strap the pads on and pick up the gauntlet to challenge the Old Bulls and/or Dump Chooks.
