24.01.2022 It's a new year and we are back on deck as of yesterday in the Clinic. Refreshed, renewed, relaxed and ready ! A lesson from last year to just go with the flow has set the theme again this year as a lesson learned in unpredictability reminded us that flexibility in mind and life is just as important as in our muscles. Happy New Year everyone.

17.01.2022 Where's your happy place and do you have the ability to go there mentally when you feel stressed or overwhelmed? It is not always possible to go there physically so this practice seems to be an effective relaxation tool. I have been practising sending my mind to my happy place sitting by the camp fire in the forest or feeling the water of the river against my skin and listening to the wildlife, coupled with slow breath work it is quite easy to drift into a relaxed state. ... It has been a useful practice while studying, sometimes just needing a minute to reset and find the answers which seem to come more easily to a more relaxed mind which in turn relaxes the body.

Sometimes I completely switch off, other times I make important decisions or solve issues and often I think about what a world living with dinosaurs in our forests would be like. 05.01.2022 I always talk about core strength in the Clinic...not only for functional movement and support of our spines but to assist in injury prevention and postural correction. My Personal trainer John at BASE51 has added sets of push up progressions to my program on the paralette bars and rings with foot elevation and a deficit. Not only have I noticed huge improvement in my form and strength but also in a range of other body weighted and weightlifting exercises that these have lay...ed a solid foundation for. Push ups are a great exercise when done correctly that utilise the engagement of our core to be performed properly and are excellent to strengthen lower and upper body muscle groups. I recommend having a trainer to teach you correct form and to learn engagement of muscles required for particular exercises to get the maximum benefit, avoid injury and progress to wherever your goals may be. #hardcore
