23.01.2022 STEM We would like to thank Origin Energy for the grant we received for purchasing solar robotics, circuits and electrical equipment. Our school captain Chelsey thanked Mr James Griffiths from Origin Energy today when he visited to see our 5/6 students in action. We look forward to continue to develop our students creativity and critical thinking through these resources.

18.01.2022 Week 10 Students of the Week - Bob, Parker, Alex Prep - Year 2 presented their animal enclosures Our STEM resources had a boost from a grant from Origin Energy. Students enjoyed putting together Solar Gyros from scratch and putting them in the sun to operate. Tomorrow we will have a visit from Origin Energy to see our STEM in action

18.01.2022 Biloela Eisteddfod - we had three competitors compete in Set Verse today. Well done to Jessica who received Highly Commended and Tahlia and Tayla who received Third Place in their divisions. Prep - Year 2 made dioramas for demonstrating day and night
17.01.2022 Year 3/4 have been busy learning and creating. In English, they have started reading Rowan of Rin - a great quest novel by Emily Rodda. A new experience of creating blog posts and commenting to other students opinions at the end of particular chapters on the Edstudio. In Science / Design Technology, our Year 3/4s have created some fantastic pin ball machines demonstrating their understanding of forces.

09.01.2022 Happy 77th birthday Prospect Creek State School On the 5th June 1944, Prospect Creek State School replaced Torsdale Farm Provisional School. Torsdale Farm Provisional School had opened on 16 July 1919 as a half-time provisional school in conjunction with Torsdale Station Provisional School. Torsdale Farm Provisional School closed on 31 Dec 1920, but reopened on 2 Oct 1935.

09.01.2022 Prep - Year 2 students have been busy exploring measurement in Maths. Yesterday we learned about capacity and how to measure it accurately using informal units.
09.01.2022 Year 5/6 were treated to exploring Japanese food and customs of eating. They loved the challenge of using chopsticks to eat a variety of Japanese inspired dishes. 08.01.2022 Prospect Creek SS had the pleasure to host the amended Callide Valley Speaking Competition. Congratulations to all the students who presented a wide variety of topics that were well written and extremely persuasive. The audience were captivated and entertained throughout. Congratulations to William from St Joseph’s who took out first place and Mackenna from Thangool who was second. All students were commended for their efforts and talent by the judges - Mrs Holman, Mrs Semple and Mrs Kerr. Prospect Creek was very proud of Quaid and Cooper for their presentations. Well done
08.01.2022 End of Term 3 We got Loud today to raise money for Hear and Say. Our wonderful students wore loud shirts and donated a total of $45.05. A link will be posted below if you would like to add to our total and raise much needed funds to support early intervention of children with hearing loss. Thank you to Lysandra and little Arthur who visited to educate us on the important work of Hear and Say. We look forward to Wowan’s Loudest Shirt Day on 23rd October. Our Year 6 sen...sory pathway and toilet block has been brightened with paint thanks to Mrs Higgins. We can’t wait to show our Playgroup friends next term! Cricket coach Mitchell visited us for the last time and we had a great time playing all things cricket related. 07.01.2022 Week 9 Students of the Week - Cooper, Reagan, Lucas Playgroup fun Mr Poulton visited and spoke with the students about Electrical Safety. They enjoyed learning facts, hearing stories and identifying ways to stay safe around electricity.

Well done to all players on a fantastic display of sportmanship to have a go.
