05.02.2022 Welcome back to 2022. This year Miriam is back from maternity leave and will be teaching PE on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Michelle Hutchens will be teaching the health component. I would like to congratulate Daniel Wilksch on winning a permanent position at Woodville High School. Thank you to Daniel for all of your hard work over the last 2 years in the PE role and I would like to wish you all the best in your new role. For all home learners this week, your teachers h...ave been provided with a fitness bingo activity to help keep you active while learning from home. I can't wait to see all the students again in week 3!

Our school has been recognised as a high achieving school with many students completing 10 weeks of physical activity during the challenge period. Today our Premier, Steven Marshall presented a certificate of achievement and $1000 to our students which will be used to purchase sports equipment / resources to promote physical activity in our school.

18.01.2022 The Paralympic Games will be held 24th August - 5th September. This inspirational video, showing the highlights from Rio in 2016 is a great conversation starter to discuss the Paralympic values of equality, determination, inspiration and courage. https://youtu.be/E6Cp_MCes1I

06.01.2022 On Friday 13th August, a group of year 6 / 7 students participated in the Crows Cup carnival at Denise Norton Park. The annual competition encourages physical activity and promotes engagement in AFL. Our school entered two teams in the event, with many games resulting in close final scores. Our boys team finished in sixth position and the girls in tenth. The students played fairly, displaying respect towards each other and opposition teams. It was wonderful seeing their positive attitudes and team work to ensure all players were actively involved in the games. Thank you to the family members who supported this event with coaching and umpiring, ensuring a successful day for everyone involved.

27.12.2021 Personal and Social Capability in Health and Physical Education In Health and Physical Education, we place a strong emphasis on student well-being and the development of student’s personal and social capabilities. Students work independently and collaboratively in movement and nonmovement-based activities to develop these skills, as well as developing an awareness and appreciation of their own and others’ strengths and abilities. Students develop a range of interpersonal ski...lls such as communication, negotiation, teamwork and leadership, and an appreciation of diverse perspectives. We provide opportunities for students to explore their own identities and develop an understanding of factors that influence and shape who they are. They learn how to recognise, understand, validate and respond appropriately to their own and others’ emotions, strengths and values. We support students to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding to set and monitor personal and academic goals, effectively managing their time, and prioritising tasks and responsibilities to balance their school, home, work and social commitments.
