Guide Dogs SA.NT has an exceptional programme which provides assistance dogs to autistic children with communication issues and a limited social interaction ability. These dogs become an extraordinary part of the child’s life, providing a sense of consistency and safety, companionship, and a reduction in the stress associated with interacting with other people. Unfortunately, government funding covers less than one third of the training costs. Paws for Autism Kids is raising money to help provide the remaining 70%. They have a black tie event coming up (with some fabulous Prosperitas Wines) with 100% of proceeds going to the Guide Dogs, please visit their Facebook page for more information.
