23.01.2022 Important: There are now 8 days to get your grant application in to support your club up to the value of $5,000. This grant can provide a range of critical club development tools to get you on your feet after COVID including: - player retention/growth support - volunteer pathway strategy... - income generation support As someone who has worked in government, and evaluated sport club grants in the past, there are a few things that the funders are looking for which is critical that you get right to maximise your chances of receiving a grant. Therefore, I strongly recommend you book me in for a free 10 minute consultation before submitting an application. (N.B - get in touch asap as I already have a number of conversations booked in with clubs over the next few days and we're running out of time to get the application in). Give me a call on 0408 575 495 or email me at [email protected]
22.01.2022 5 days to go! One club I've spoken to this week will be, if successful, using this grant to get a range of outcomes for their club including: - Leadership training for their key players and coaches... - Volunteer recruitment strategy - Communications collateral and copywriting - A 12-month social media plan - Committee coaching sessions + plenty more. What is your club doing to benefit from this Victorian Government funding opportunity? https://sport.vic.gov.au//ou/sporting-club-grants-program
21.01.2022 If you ever wondered why the Melbourne Storm are such a great club here are some reflections on the legendary Cameron Smith and the leadership qualities that have made him and his team so successful.
10.01.2022 Want to know what helped clubs last time Australian sport clubs face a significant disruption? We can learn from the experience of Cyclone Yasi in 2011 and the impact it had on Queensland sport. Do:... - Apply for government grants! (research shows funded clubs recovered more thoroughly) Do: - Generate community buy-in and morale through cooperative recovery efforts that foster altruism, community togetherness, and hope (research shows members and volunteers were the most critical resources in the 2011 cyclone recovery) Don't: - neglect the ability and willingness of local businesses to provide in-kind support to clubs eg, loaning of equipment or expertise (research shows this was important in 2011) Do: - recruit and train new volunteers (research shows volunteer substitution was a challenge in 2011) Do: - diversify income streams (the research shows that this has been a vulnerability for a long time for local sport clubs) Which of these do you need help with?
