11.01.2022 Recently we have also had to pleasure to stretch an artwork by Moon Doogas, a super intricate artwork printed on canvas. When viewed from a distance the artwork takes on a sort of static softening and from up close the viewer is thrown into thousands of little mandalas of microcosmic detail. Very Cool! 10.01.2022 Pro Stretch Holiday Hours: ProStretch Studios will be having a small break over the Christmas Period. From the 24th of December to the 4th of January the studio will be closed.... 09.01.2022 If Buying Paintings Overseas - What to do for Stretching - Quick and Simple! > If you find a painting that you would love to bring home, make sure to: - Unpick the staples on the back! ... Please do not cut the canvas away. Always make sure to unpick the staples, as this gives the canvas stretcher enough blank material to restretch your artwork. Otherwise you may lose some of the painted image (We can always find a way to stretch your artwork using some clever methods if you do cut the artwork away but much better not to). - Roll the artworks up carefully and use a postal tube to keep them safe. (check with laws of quarantine to make sure you're in the clear) and bring you're beautiful new artworks home. - Bring them to ProStretch! The sooner you get your artworks out of that postal tube and stretched, the better. Some artworks tend to be forgotten and this can do damage to the artworks, especially if painted thickly (impasto). Corrugation and cracking can occur and can be costly to fix - usually due to storing vertically in tube. So for the sake of the artwork itself, make sure to get your artworks stretched before you forget! There are many ways to conserve your artwork if it does in fact incur damage of some form, but conservation takes time and patience but also can be quite expensive. For top quality artworks that carry a large price tag then conservation is totally worth it if needed! But if your artwork is somewhat cheaper but beautiful all the same, the price you originally paid may be doubled in conservation expenses, so its always worth getting your artworks on the wall as soon as possible :)
