14.01.2022 October Stats..... up 33% on September with no signs of slowing down. The numbers of women needing support is overwhelming. As the impact of COVID continues to flow, together with pre existing issues of affordable housing and inadequate resources, we find ourselves exhausted. The flow of people in crisis has become a crashing tidal wave of the perfect storm as services desperately try to find solutions to ease the impact locally. This is happening across the board with y...outh, families and single people. We are committed to finding solutions, and supporting those who need us, but we can’t do it alone ! Thank you to everyone who continuously supports the work of Protea Place. #morehousingneededurgently David Janetzki MP Trevor Watts Mayor Paul Antonio Mick de Brenni for Springwood Annastacia Palaszczuk MP Scott Morrison (ScoMo)
11.01.2022 We powered through December with amazing outcomes for those we support. and yes, we were exhausted but it’s so worth it. Have you ever wondered what your contribution and donation dollar does for Protea Place ? This ! It does this ! It stays local and gets exactly where it’s needed. To the FRONT LINE Every single dollar helps us function and create tangible change in local lives. ... Housing, employment, clothing, meals, crisis support and more. You helped achieve this ! With NO GOVERNMENT FUNDING ! We grew with temporary grants and community giving along with 2.5 staff and some amazing volunteers. We truly moved mountains We may be small but we are having a massive impact 1 week back and 2021 is extremely busy already. Many new faces and many women in critical need. Please join our success, commitment and our vision. Your generosity and care is your legacy for Toowoomba’s most vulnerable All donations over $2 are tax deductible and we are so very grateful Thank you Amanda and the entire PP team xxx See more

02.01.2022 Our first ever video about Protea Place. Created and sung by local artist Esther Armstrong Evolution Studios and assisted by Round Square Marketing and video created by Dakota Perry The lyrics were words spoken by women experiencing homelessness.
01.01.2022 We LOVE that you thought of us but we are now BURSTING at the seams and CAN NOT take any more CLOTHING DONATIONS at the moment. We will do a call out when we are able to resume taking items again. We have had a number of people getting very angry and even abusive at us for not being able to take their quality items. We truly appreciate you thinking of us BUT we have very limited storage and we have been inundated with people having holiday clean outs and wanting to donate clothing. Thank you for your support and understanding
