This group is not about no growth, we are in agreement with this page about sustainable growth. ... 16.01.2022 Gisborne Futures is a draft document outlining a proposal for our town character, urban design and structure plan. It is very complex reading and in its current form is not ready for public consumption. Whilst much effort has gone into collecting public sentiment, very little has made it into the plan itself. ... A peri urban village (as we have been described) does not consist of multiple story town centre, dual occupancy in the residential zone and residents should not fear being pushed out of their homes by new infrastructure. In addition, there is much missing such as infrastructure for new technologies and does not consider our current/future way of life. Unlike other candidates that may be getting on this bandwagon I have made a submission to council. It is important to get this right. 14.01.2022 How do we move forward? Our key request is to demand the immediate suspension of the Gisborne Futures Project. Once achieved, genuine consultation is required before another draft is rolled out. ... We don't see any value in Macedon Ranges Shire Council spending more money on this. Rather, let's go back to the community and have an honest and grown-ups’ discussion on the direction of Gisborne Futures is this going the way the community wants and the environment needs? The fact that this Gisborne Futures got to where it did was intentionally trying to push agendas through by putting the cart before the horse. Council ‘consulted’ before but obviously didn’t hear That’s what’s missing. Gisborne Futures is a fairly comprehensive deviation from community values, and from council’s responsibility to protect town character. It’s the starting point and direction for Gisborne Futures that needs to change from the suburban growth area template it represents and the silly and damaging levels of population growth. It will be increasingly difficult to get changes the deeper into the process this project goes so that needs to happen FIRST and NOW>
