24.01.2022 The open community environmental group Protect 1 have found it difficult to advertise, promote, and host community beach cleans during recent times. Due to the issues surrounding covid pandemic and social distancing at our local beaches in the Eastern Suburbs where P1 is based, it has been almost impossible to follow the NSW guidelines on social distancing and running community beach clean events. Especially when we are a group that believes in the power of a hug, close c...ontact talks and walks for the planet and mental health. In saying this, PROTECT 1 has still been active along beaches in the east and up/down the coast. We have just been more delicate with how many are gathered. Rest assured we are armed, prepared and ready to continue to create community awareness, positive mental health, good energy and positive environmental impact through hosting/promoting Community Beach and Coast Clean Ups. Some of the most beautiful, intelligent, educational, wise and creative people in this world have come through and are going through some of the darkest, roughest journeys.... There comes a point when it gets so dark a force drags you to LIGHT. Keep on shining, don’t be afraid of the dark valley. It’s a part of growing into a true higher aware self full of love, understanding, non-judgment and curiosity about the philosophy of all things.

17.01.2022 Maroubra Beach Clean and Meditation We had such a great time. There is no better feeling then kids chasing you up the beach to put plastic in your rubbish bag. Education in Action We met quite a few people and talked about plastic pollution, awareness and education which is always good and helpful to grow and share knowledge. One thing I took from this clean is just being in a positive group doing positive environmental work creates an energy of positivity. Beach users are... attracted to the energy . The local community were great full for what we were doing and we were grateful do be able to do it and receive the blessings Mother Earth offers. Also thanks to the Communities Environment Program which helped us grow and invest in needed equipment for what we do. Thanks to everyone that came and those that where there in Spirit . 14.01.2022 Considering the heavy winds and swell, @protectourone and @so_shire are so great full for how the Frenchman’s Bay Beach Clean went after Yarra Bay Beach Clean. We connected with Mother Earth by being in partnership with her and protecting that which is sacred. In total the community and us hauled 60+ kgs of rubbish.... It was freezing, the sand was in our eyes from the wind but to see people come together for the Land and Sea which provides for all of us is a blessing. A positive beach clean/environmental event with positive groups helping and collaborating. -PROTECT 1 will be hosting a clean up with equipment provided. Please bring non-plastic water bottle. -Smoking Ceremony on the sand run by Daniel Ella 8:30am -Meditation on sand guided by Coby Bennet 9am -RISE FOUNDATION AUSTRALIA set up with a mental health safe space and gadvice on Mental Health Strategies. -NMSR (North Maroubra Surf Riders) helping clean the beach and community connection. Hosting a BBQ (pending COVID restrictions). -LBR (Lapa Board Riders Indigenous Surfing) helping out with beach clean and community connection. -FITbySIX helping out with beach clean and fitness/PT advice. -Ocean Action Pod. Take action on marine plastic pollution this summer at the Ocean Action Pod, a pop-up multimedia educational experience for adults and children.

09.01.2022 Had great fun over the weekend exploring the South Coast. It’s so up lifting and positive to get away from people, the big smoke and be closer to the innocence of nature. The new regrowth on the bushfire ravaged trees are really taking off and they are just so special and beautiful coming from blackness to green shoots. The big rays where amazing, snorkelling with one the width of a Toyota Yaris was an experience I’ll never forget. ... The locals and the wildlife efforts they put in are second to none. And they don’t like people who leave trash. Which is acceptable in our book. Stay good, Stay True, Preach love not hate! Especially if your in a position of influence in your community. Hate creates more hate!
