21.01.2022 Sometimes structural repair is much better than rebuilding. This under-house laundry was rotting away and the entire rear of the house had sunk, causing many obvious problems. We propped the house and jacked it up to the correct height. We then restored the laundry walls using the correct grade of treated timber, and an additional steel structural post, to ensure there would not be problems in the future.... Cost effective, and it will pass the test of time.

21.01.2022 Another job jacking up sagging construction! This laundry was supporting a deck and room above however the walls had rotted out completely and the structure above was sagging. We jacked it back up and installed a structural steel column then rebuilt the laundry. Success!!!

19.01.2022 First attempt using the stop motion camera. The file was corrupted in a couple of spots hence the "pauses". Unfortunatly it ran out of memory before sheeted the floor!

17.01.2022 We do big as well as small jobs - both have challenges and advantages. This job used a piling rig to sink piles close to the boundary - for precise work like this we need the right people, because a small mistake can become a huge problem.

16.01.2022 When I was a child I wanted to be a crane driver... Even now, using heavy equipment on a job has never stopped feeling special.

12.01.2022 Just a small project, but we're really proud of this garage to home office conversion. The combination of original structure with quality furnishings created a modern industrial vibe. The garage was being used for storage. By adding a wall and side door we created a new, better organised, storage room.... The photos don't do justice to how great the large window and glass sliding doors look. With the white walls, the room is bright and feels spacious. So often people maintain their garden but don't spend much time in it. We wanted to get value from the existing garden as well as the new space; The desk-sized window looks across the pool area, the glass doors face the house, and the original garage doors were kept so the office can be closed up to restore the original garden's appearance. We particularly love the colours from the original floor's concrete stones. After polishing and sealing, they look great!

08.01.2022 Pour day!! Woo! Baccamatto Osteria’s new fitout has really commenced now! I love the brown concrete with black stones, it will look so good once polished and sealed. Final photos in 9 weeks time, I can’t wait!

08.01.2022 I wish jobs were as easy as this camera makes them look! Under house works are dark, muddy and difficult but when replacing a single timber bearer with 2 steel beams opens up an under-house storage space as effectively as this it can be very satisfying. (The video misses the removal of the old supporting wall and pier unfortunately.)

05.01.2022 Before we start any construction work we need to make sure any significant trees are protected and the council arborist is happy.

04.01.2022 At Protos Projects we like the unusual projects. Here is a quick video of the team installing an occupational therapy frame in Kids World at Lane Cove. They will use it to hang swings and climbing equipment for the kids they treat. By doing all the preparation work off site the install was quick and clean. Great work guys!

03.01.2022 Outdated marble, mirror finish ceiling, indoor gardens.how 70’s. What a better time to update your office than a pandemic when the staff are working from home! The forward thinking management at Metal Manufacturers wanted their staff to return to an updated office when they returned to their North Rocks offices. Marble, joinery and internal gardens were ripped out returning the lobby to a shell. New porcelain tiles were then laid, walls re-sheeted then painted and vinyl and joinery installed. Doors were replaced and updated with automated openers to avoid contact with handles making the space more COVID Safe. Check out the before and after pictures below!
