As we head in to the new decade hopefully you will get the chance to celebrate with family and friends. 2019 has been a bi...g year celebrating the City's 60th birthday, and we achieved a lot including: Securing funding for light rail stage 3A Launching Hopo ferry service Commencing the Pimpama Sports Hub Miami Aquatic Centre redevelopment started Planning and design for the dive attraction Chevron Island to HOTA green bridge HOTA Art Gallery construction Palm Beach Artificial Reef completion Expansion and improvements at Coplick Family Sports Park Setting up Major Events Gold Coast Keeping rates low and paying down debt Isle of Capri decongestion project Waterways Drive & Sundale Bridge improvements Expansion of the WiFi network The huge success of the GC Sports & Leisure Centre and Coomera Indoor Stadium Music Action Plan finalised Commencing the Long Term Recycled Water Release project More CCTV cameras for community safety and of course upgrades and improvements to parks, more shade sails and footpaths and traffic congestion busting projects. 21.01.2022 Many Gold Coasters are heartbroken watching Australia burn, Aussie wildlife perish, homes and lives lost!! Lots of locals have asked ‘what they can do’ wanting ...to donate good quality clothes, shoes, etc & ensure it gets directly to those in need.. Please let us know how you’d like help and we’ll get cracking!! We will no doubt need a hall to gather items and transport to get it to the most affected areas. We will work with local charities to assist with distribution! See more
