We’ve heard from members of our community in recent weeks who are at a loss about how to fix broken justice systems and UNITE the ideological divide around #BlackLivesMatter. This webinar is for you guys, people of colour or allies, who want to learn about where to from here. ...Tune in on the evening of Friday 26th June from 7-8PM, for a candid conversation between brave youth activists about ALLYSHIP, processing grief, holding our governance systems ACCOUNTABLE, tackling CONVERSATIONS about #BlackLivesMatter, and other QUESTIONS. 01.01.2022 Over the past few days, our team has experienced heavy hearts at the injustice of George Floyd’s killing. George Floyd is just one of many innocent victims of anti-black police violence in the US, after a white Minnesota police officer used a knee hold on his neck. George wasn’t armed. He wasn’t violent. His only ‘crime’? Paying with a counterfeit $20 bill at a convenience store. But for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, Devin Chauvin knelt on his neck, even as he pleaded for his li...fe and said he couldn’t breathe. While the officer in question has now been charged with third degree murder and second degree manslaughter, we cannot stop there. We all need to continue raising awareness of the systematic racism of justice systems globally and holding our public officials accountable. We’re stronger when we stand united as a society against injustice, when we empower people of colour in solidarity and when we educate others. #justiceforgeorgefloyd #sayhisname #blacklivesmatter
