24.01.2022 Dylan has the fuel tank out of this S15 to install electric power steering, and an E85 fuel system, to support 1000hp in an S-Chassis. It has a Proflow 340LPH pickup pump, Taarks surge tank and twin staged Walbro 460LPH pumps feeding -8 teflon hoses to the turbo LS engine we are assembling. Photos by Ziptie Motorsports

22.01.2022 We are busier than ever and are currently looking for a QUALIFIED Automotive Technician to join our team. This is a full-time role in our North Mackay workshop, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday mornings. 22.01.2022 Common rail diesels need to be looked after. This Peugeot 308 2.0L has had regular logbook servicing all of its life down in Brisbane. During the routine service we always check MAF sensor, MAP sensor and IAT (Inlet Air Temp) sensor. This IAT sensor is definitely not reading correctly, which will suffer performance and fuel economy. No codes on dash, but when you look, you find faults. We cleaned the inlet passage and sensors. The car idles smoother, sounds quieter and the customer has reported better drivability.

19.01.2022 This PX2 Ranger came in for a levelling lift kit 2" front 0" rear, with some high quality billet Shockworks dampers. Remote reservoir rears, damper adjustable. Then a wheel alignment on our 3d Aligner.

19.01.2022 Gotta hold that tongue right! #sorrynotsorry Caught the boss aligning an F250 the last time I was in the shop. Not sure if you can tell, but that's a whoooole-lotta work bus for the hoist. There really isn't much that won't fit on the 4 poster, with it's 6.5t load rating. Anyone have something bigger to try?

18.01.2022 Today marks our 8th year in business! We started with one hoist in our home workshop, then briefly sub-leased a section of workshop space in Slade Point before making the move to our current location in North Mackay. Our 621m workshop is fully equipped with an engine building room, five hoists (including one 6 tonne capacity hoist), a Dyno Dynamics 2WD Single Retarder Dyno, the latest laser wheel alignment machine, Snap-On tyre changing and fitting machines, and top of the... range diagnostic and scan tools. Adjoining our workshop is a 95m office and showroom, which displays a variety of our automotive parts and accessories. We're booked out months in advance for custom builds and are generally booked out a few weeks ahead for smaller services and mechanical repairs. Our accomplishments would not have been without our awesome staff members and valued customers throughout the years. Thank you to everyone who has supported us! Here's to another 8 years!!!

17.01.2022 I don't think there is a whole lot more frightening than an old V8 built period correct. Marshmallow suspension, buttered brakes and enough torque to tow a train. Sadly, this XW is in for a new heart, after #7 nope'd out due to some rough timing adjustments. Donk, tune, wash and some clean photos coming soon.

17.01.2022 Proximity Motorsport supplied and installed the De Filippo Headers, and twin 3" cat back exhaust system and fitted a VCM OTR. Finished off with a tune from JPTuning we saw a nice increase of 56RWHP. Dyno Sheet in comments

17.01.2022 We have been patiently collecting custom parts to turn a 1UZ-FE Toyota 4L V8 into a 1200+HP machine. We sent some cylinder heads down to Herman at Platinum Racing Products and he has designed a R35 GTR 3000HP+ Ignition kit with a Kinsler Mechanical Fuel pump driven off the cam. These are the first prototypes made, we will post some spam over the next few days from our engine assembly room as things start getting cleaned, measured and installed.

16.01.2022 Its been a busy month in the workshop. Here's some progress pictures of a VF Maloo with a LSX376 Crate motor, and a LSA blower we are putting together. This has VCMs latest 825 camshaft, 102mm Nick Williams throttle body, VCM cover drive on the blower with an OTR, Manly springs, CNC ported heads and an Interchiller system with the upgraded drag pack. We have twin DW300 pumps in the tank, twin feed lines, return less system, with a VaporWorx PWM fuel pump control module with some reprogramming in HP tuners to keep it all working. We have also wired in a flex fuel sensor for full flex E85. 700+HP Street package

15.01.2022 Not much sounds better than a high compression, low capacity engine, screaming at the top of it's lungs through an ITB setup. Prove me wrong. This MX5 was in for a little bit of work before JPTuning put it through it's Paces (pun intended) on the dyno. Glorious noises ensued. Kinda surprised something this low fit on the dyno.

08.01.2022 Over the weekend half of our staff made their way to Townsville for the King of the Mountain Hill Climb. Leon and Dylan both drove our NA R31 and Scott drove his WRX. Our good friend Jason also came up from Mackay with the Proximity built R34 GTT with PPG dog box and 750rwhp. A bit too much power to prove king of the mountain, but definitely the crowd favourite. It was good to get out and drive after all these covid restrictions has really slowed down motorsport.

01.01.2022 We had an awesome weekend at Townsville TCAC King of the Mountain Round 4 today. JPTuning done well in his R33 GTR, taking out 4th place outright the first time he has raced Mt Stuart. Scott's launch control was too much for the WRX CV shaft and it let go. Our R31 was feeling the pressure today too. This race was the last outing before we re-shell into a track 180sx. 150 shot of Nitrous was a little too much for the $30 headgasket. Video in comments. It was going well befor...e it let go Thanks to those who ran the event, our staff for helping prep cars at all hours of the week, and Field Mining Services Group for lending us the trailer.
