Take the leap ... it will only be steps forward, how many you take is totally up to you. Image .... Imagine what it would be like to be less anxious, less depressed, less lost, less overwhelmed.... Just imagine. Would would that feel like? What would that look like? What would it sound like? And with that freedom .... imagine what else would open up for you... your family... even your friends. 03.01.2022 To the kids struggling at school... I see you, I feel you, I hear you. I know its not your fault ... Yes I have witnessed you in your struggle getting blamed, shamed and disrespected.... But, it's ok, your well being is important and considered and 18% of what you learn now will be used later in your life. So sit & learn for 6 hours and some how you will learn how you will just stop struggle. Yes, I know .... you have a disability, are currently experiencing challenges, have experienced trauma, a processing challenges ... but sorry it doesn't matter, just get on with it and keep up with the rest, someone will help you change you to fit in. Yes, I know.... I see you don't see the purpose, have no interest or don't align with the one way of delivery. But its ok, the teachers are miracle workers and they are trained to differentiate the learning, support 26 other kids, do the required paper work, ensure you all meet the benchmark and meet everyone's needs with no support. Yes .... I see that is coming out in anger, frustration & overwhelm. I see that you don't know why or how but you feel bad for it after ... I totally get that... But sorry now you are a distraction, a problem & and there must be something wrong with you. ************ NO, NO NO.... No my dear, there is nothing wrong with you, you are not a problem, a burden, nor a distraction. YOU my dear, are AMAZING, CAPABLE, ENOUGH. I'm sorry, but it is just easier to blame, shame and diagnose than feel, change, evolve and admit that you are so much more KNOWING, CONNECTED and AWARE than they care to see. You my dear are a TRUE, AUTHENTIC REFLECTION of self in a system that is outdated, disconnected, fearful & ill equip for the amazing children coming into this world. I see you, I hear you, I feel you. Yes I have your back and I will commit to taking steps towards opening the eyes of more to see you & hear you as you deserve.
