But a basic understanding ...of what’s in there, or what’s missing, is handy to discuss with your electrician so you can make sure you have appropriate electrical protection for your main priorities: family, home and possessions. Help protect your family with RCDs (Residual Current Devices): In the case of current leakage due to faulty appliances or wiring, this little device will disconnect the power and help reduce chances of someone getting an electric shock. Help protect your electrical appliances with SPDs (Surge Protection Devices): Places a barrier between your valued possessions (TV, washing machine) and power surges or voltage spikes due to indirect lightning strikes. Help protect your home with AFDDs (Arc Fault Detection Device): Helps detect arc faults caused by loose cable connections or damaged cables. If these arcs are not detected early then they can potentially result in electrical fires Note too that RCBOs are also switchboard device that combines the functions of an RCD with MCB. 17.01.2022 ‘WELCOME TO SILVER BALL STUDIOS.’ ‘The new home of FitZ Media Productions’ It is with great excitement during a pretty grim time that I share with you our new ...studio complex. We start production from here tomorrow. I cannot thank everyone enough who made this happen so quickly. To our builder Wayne Billings and his son Mikey for working with me to make this vision come to life, and so quickly. They were part of this from the start of the modification right to the end. To Paul Hose and his team at PSH Electrical for being there from the start to the end. Greg Bull and his team at Greg Bull Painting for painting our studio and our new walls. Luke Austin for helping us get the studio ready for NBN and all our data wiring testing. And to Troy Kelly and the team at Montgomery Motorsport for getting this room back to a habitable state from what was a complete mess, great guys and I look forward to working alongside you all each day. Also to Gareth Colliton and Richard Pritchard and the team at One Day Studios, we will do some great things together. Finally to my team, Rusty Newland, Harrison Smith, Andrew Lucas for working so hard today to get us ready to open. And my family Ellie, Ashley Gillin, Dad Kev for helping with some final touches. My hope is this studio will be the Southwest’s link to national tv stations and professional online broadcasts, both pre-recorded and live. This may be FitZ Media's studio, but it is available to anyone to hire and use, we will be on standby to help you make it happen. We will be releasing a bit of video about it at a later date. 14.01.2022 In February this year, we made the decision to move FMP out of home and into a purpose-built facility, to future proof us, and expand our possibilities, to incl...ude more high-end studio broadcast and production both live and prerecorded. The first day we, Harrison, Cody and Myself (Liam) came to what would eventually become our new home, I filmed a walkthrough to show family and friends to help me make a decision to take the next step. Today, I decided to do the same walkthrough, in the same way, and combine the two, and I am so proud of what we have developed, and I'm so thankful to those who have all made it happen. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and FMP is very much like a child to Ellie and me, and everyone who is in our Villiage we a truly thankful to all of you. 08.01.2022 NEW ADDITIONS TO SILVER BALL STUDIOS- it’s been a huge week of further developments at our new base. We have introduced a recording booth this week, built and ...designed by Harrison Smithour studio manager and tech guru with the assistance of PSH Electrical, who has been a huge supporter of our studio. This will be available to our customers who would like to voice their own commercials, for us to voice our news scripts, and for musicians to come and record. It can also be used to produce podcasts for clients as we have been getting a few requests. We had Michael Ferguson come in along with Brauer College Music students to record the other day and we got the big tick- still a bit to go to finish it. We’ll also be able to film inside it too. The second development, our new Tea and Coffee station, for us to be able to cater for visitors to the studio, this was put together by Ashley Gillin today, and a fantastic addition to our studio. Watch this space for some more news about what we are working on very soon.
