21.01.2022 Many more reasons. Just DM if you'd like the list
21.01.2022 This was a commissioned piece of artwork. As much as this was a painting of the ocean it also tells a much deeper story. The green centre represents the heart and healing. The swirl symbolises a gathering, magic and healing. The centre represents the magic of healing that can occur when people gather or come together. The four branches or waves represent the healing reaching out to community and the positive effect that healing has on us.... The dolphins represent peace and tranquility. The dots represent the ocean, coral and its treasures as each colour also has its own meaning. This painting was done by Delise Sampson, a young Wirangu Aboriginal artist. It sits in a special place on the coast of the Eyre Peninsula in Streaky Bay, on Wirangu country.

20.01.2022 The Aussie lifestyle is casual and laid-back but this shouldnt be misinterpreted to mean that we dont work hard or dont care. We have one of the worlds longest working weeks. The wellworn saying for hard work - hard yakka - is worn as a badge of honour. Our work ethic is culturally ingrained. If there is one thing we cant stand in this country, its lazy people who dont work hard. Our country was built on the backs of the first wave of immigrants who came here and worked damn hard. My hometown of Port Lincoln would not have the thriving fishing industry (and the wealth that goes with it) if it wasnt for the immigrants who set up home here and didnt stop working.
20.01.2022 I believe that our clients are our relationships too. They aren't just a source of income. We need to invest in them as someone we care about. Take the time to demonstrate this. Send an email. Make a phone call. Just say hi. They will remember that you care. Do something without an expectation of receiving anything in return. The traditional law model doesn't really allow for this because if you can't bill the time then you shouldn't waste the time. This is greedy. We can s...till make a living. I strongly believe that in my industry it is all about building relationships based on genuine care and concern for the person sitting in front of you. They are going through some major changes in their lives to create a new life in a foreign country. I try and think of myself doing this in their country. I would need people to really care about me or I don't think I could see it through to the end. Share your clients' pain and their tears. See more

18.01.2022 So how does this criteria compare to the criteria of our current batch of visas??
18.01.2022 Oh South Aussie. Just another great offering from this great state. The other states may try to claim a version of you but just like yo-yo biscuits and fritz, you are ours.

17.01.2022 Skilled and Business Migration in South Australia. South Australias economic recovery is supported by the Commonweath Government with the announcement that they will allocate a limited number of skilled and business visa nomination places. Whilst the number will be limited it is still some positive news for SA as most states (other than the ACT, which is open to local residents only) are closed. Skilled applicants with EOIs that meet Commonwealth and South Australian priorit...ies will be invited to submit an application for state nomination. If you havent yet submitted an EOI and believe you are eligible, you should submit ASAP. The EOIs are expeced to be reviewed from 31 August 2020. The state nomination requirements, including occupation lists, are expected to be published on 27 August 2020. Business applicants who have submitted Intention to Apply submissions can expect these to start being reviewed from 7 September 2020, and (hopefully) receive an invitation to submit an application. 15.01.2022 If you are an eligible visa holder and are taken to have suffered family violence, there are special provisions in immigration law that allow you to continue with your permanent visa application. Your visa status cannot be threatened by an abusive partner. You do not have to live in fear that he/she will deport you. If you are in immediate danger you should call the police on 000. Police are safe and can be trusted. They will not deport to your home country or take you to an immigration detention centre. If you need an interpreter call 131 450
14.01.2022 Subclass 417 (Working Holiday) visa changes! Effective from today (19 August 2020). Work carried out after 31 January 2020 in the healthcare and medical sectors in any place in Australia can be counted towards eligibility for a second or third Subclass 417 visa.... ALERT - this only applies to applications made from today. It does not apply to applications lodged prior to today.
14.01.2022 Hi everyone. I'm a very small, new business without lots of cash to throw around. I donated just a small amount that I can afford. I always feel extreme sadness when I see a homeless person because it could be anyone of us. Female, male, young, elderly, disabled, all ethnicities - our faces are reflected In the homeless we see on the street. It takes a lot not to pass judgement and to just feel sympathy, but we really need to. It's so easy to just keep walking. When I see a m...an my father's age, I feel ill. What if that was him and no-one cared. My daughter once asked me that whenever I see a homeless person with a dog to please give money or buy dog food. We had a young guy and his greyhound sitting outside Coles at Sandringham, Melbourne, for a long time. It was a really sad sight but after we spoke to him and found out his backstory we understood why he was there. Someone told me not to believe him, he's just telling bullshit. Well, wealthy people with roofs over their heads sitting next to you at work, on the train, at the dinner table, tell stories too. Their stories are just cloaked in money and comfort, so we think they're not spinning bullshit stories and doing okay. Maybe they aren't. Every one needs someone to show compassion, at least just once. See more

08.01.2022 We, Delise's non-aboriginal family, need to support and stand with her. We need to follow her posts and like them. 08.01.2022 Could you pass the new Citizenship test? Effective from 15 November 2020. Have a go: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au//prepare/practice-test-new The changes made to the test are not unreasonable. I am keen to know how many Aussies (born and bred) could pass this test. Immigrants who genuinely want Australian citizenship will study hard to pass it. Will they remember the newly added Australian values info?? Most will. Will they put it into practice? Possibly not - depends o...n the cutural presssures they face to wholly retain their ethnic identity and not integrate at all. I imagine a woman who is suffering family violence will silently recite the answer to the question about a husbands right to be violent towards his wife. She will ask her God why he showed her the pathway to a life in this country that she only once dreamed of, yet he didnt also show her husband that his abuse of her in that same country is an offence. Integrating cant be just a study of our values and beliefs, it has to be a lived experience, and it can only be lived through physical interaction and shared experiences with the Aussie community. Lets be honest and ask ourselves (Aussies) this question - do I really want to know my ethnic neighbours? Do I want them to know what I know? Do I want to share my knowledge and experiences with them? We have not done a great job of knowing our own indigenous community. We have completely marginalized them. We Aussies still have a lot of inward looking to do. See more

06.01.2022 All relevant visa applicants (including temporary) have to sign an Australian Values Statement, confirming they have read, or had explained to them, information on Australian society and values. Permanent applicants also have to pledge that they will make reasonable efforts to learn English. Fair enough. There are many great applicants who proudly, and with great respect, sign the statement. They contribute so much to our great Australia. Welcome.... And what about those who don't value what a life here enables them to do? Sorry but I can't welcome you.

04.01.2022 I first posted this on 6 May and got 2 likes. Bennelong acted as the go-between, between the Eora and the British at the time of the settlement of this country. He was abducted by Governor Arthur Phillip of NSW as a means of establishing relationships with the local indigenous populations. Bennelong contributed to some of the first cross-cultural communication between the groups. His legacy is highly contested though - he either disgusted his British captors or was exiled from his own people. Australias renowned dance company, Bangarra, created a performance which explored the life of this incredible man.

02.01.2022 I hope Scott Morrison does the right thing and takes him back. Whilst our policy is that a non-citizen is deported after they have completed their sentence, this guys sentence will end at his death. NZ should not have to suffer from his presence until then. Special laws will have to be passed to enable a prisoner transfer, and Australia will have to ensure he cant become eligible for parole if he enters our prison system. We have to take responsibility for him. Its what we demand other countries do.
