23.01.2022 I need to increase my focus on redeveloping my website, so will not be posting much here for a while. Website Redevelopment - Psyche Mentoring https://psychementoring.com/news/website-redevelopment/

23.01.2022 Some people feed #birds & develop relationships with them, which can be 'healing'. If you do, please feed birds in a species appropriate way with genuinely nutritious food & don't overdo it. Please also provide water - a bird bath perhaps - & clean regularly without chemicals.

21.01.2022 How 'Saint Monday' hangovers and the football helped bring us the weekend - ABC News https://www.abc.net.au//history-of-the-weekend-wo/12868460 Interesting history, and a reminder of how grateful we can be for our lives of ease - compared to our forebears, and for THEIR efforts which we benefit from.... Personally, I love Mondays and embrace each day with joy; but I'm an outlier. #Psychology #Philosophy

21.01.2022 Excuses for shoddy service: Firms STILL blaming Covid six months on with calls unanswered, helplines axed & emails ignored https://buff.ly/3n5VQGL About the UK, however I've noticed this is common in Australia too. Good #CustomerService should not be 'optional'. #Marketing

20.01.2022 Porajmos: the Nazi genocide forgotten by the world https://buff.ly/3cG9D1K The ideologies [that motivated the genocide] are still here: people require scapegoats, Mr Emini said. Three of the nine people murdered [during last year’s racist gun massacre] in Hanau were Roma but this was hardly mentioned in the press There is very little self-criticism in Germany and other countries about their past, but also regarding the current situation. What little many learn from the past. Bias, including unconscious bias, is also involved. #Psychology

19.01.2022 Many people say they are praying for Trump's recovery from #Covid19. A basic knowledge of #psychology, history, & anthropology suggests many of these are virtue signalers &/or 'pharisees' (pretentious, sanctimonious religious folk), & some wish him ill - in secret. #USElection

18.01.2022 President Trump is single largest driver of misinformation about #coronavirus: Cornell University study. https://buff.ly/30qcQgV I check GP advice with Dr Google & pharmacists because of plentiful bad advice. People who don't check what Trump says need their heads looking at.

17.01.2022 Was listening to someone touted as good at storytelling. Left very early due to their poor diction & storytelling skills. Positive note: there are so many half-baked people out there, it's not hard to be better! Ideally, ensure you strive for excellence (not perfection).

13.01.2022 Insightful article about why some men cheat by @SamanthaX_real https://buff.ly/2EJy7dW #Relationships #Dating #Sex

12.01.2022 I've always loved reading - starting from when I used to read under the bedclothes with a torch to avoid detection back in the 1960's. Back then, reading was in some ways an escape from a difficult childhood.

11.01.2022 Women reveal what they would do if all men disappeared for 24 hours https://buff.ly/3ihM6Wg Guys, this is a sobering message about the suffering of many women. Work on what we men can do to become better people.

09.01.2022 Some good advice about self defence, confidence, situational awareness and more.

09.01.2022 ‘God freed the beaver I’ll sort the wildcat’: meet Derek Gow, the renegade rewilder https://buff.ly/3iuKE2X Good work by Derek Gow. #Ecology #Conservation #Environment #UKPolitics #Auspol #USPolitics Where to start: Learn about keystone species & their importance.

07.01.2022 Meet three #orchid specialists with a passion for the picturesque plants https://buff.ly/3ittNgH (An Eastern Queen of Sheba orchid in full bloom near Ongerup in Western Australia). Informative insightful article. #Flowers #Botany #Horticulture #Conservation #Environment #Orchids

05.01.2022 Looking at the Christmas food offerings in my local grocery store catalog - so much of it is crap which our bodies hate, yet we think of it as a 'treat'. No surprise so many people are fat. Good #nutrition rocks. #Obesity is not good, no matter how one tries to 'reframe' it.

05.01.2022 Fruit grower reveals the simple tricks to finding the perfect avocado https://buff.ly/3l99FT3 "Avocados don't ripen on the tree. They only ripen once picked" - didn't know that. Yummy, genuinely nutritious food - I substituted for some of the crap I used to eat. #WeightLoss

04.01.2022 Rare BLACK leopard is spotted crossing the road while hunting deer https://buff.ly/2SckIhE Now that...is a smart cat! #Cats #Photography #India

03.01.2022 An 'elephant in the room' is that from the perspectives of ecological, physical & #mentalhealth, #Aboriginal #Indigenous peoples of #Australia were much better off before our colonial ancestors invaded. Can we do more to help? #Auspol #QldPol #Kindness #Empathy #Environment

02.01.2022 Victorian village life in 1840s Sussex is revealed in oldest ever photos of southern England https://buff.ly/3mYS7uh Interesting #photography. #Anthropology

01.01.2022 Based on my own personal experience of relationships with wild birds this is credible. I've even been defended from a new-to-area swooping Crow by a male Australian Magpie (during breeding season no less) - Mr Magpie engaged Crow in a dog-fight three times, giving me time to get back inside the house after visiting the bins. Mr and Mrs Crow later became friends also, but were not as chummy (being Corvids) as Mr & Mrs Magpie and Mr & Mrs Grey Butcherbird. ... It was one of the most moving experiences of my life. And the first time I have received close air support (CAS) from a bird! #Birds
