14.02.2022 Bringing the focus back to your self, might seem counter intuitive, perhaps even ‘selfish’ but relationships are more likely to flourish when you let go of trying to control or change (or always please) the other

23.01.2022 Kids are still developing their emotional insight and language; and their ability to articulate feelings reduces as emotions intensify - so we need to learn to read their behaviour, which can be so tricky to not react to the big behaviour and instead try to translate and respond to the feeling Have I mentioned that parenting is the toughest gig?

15.01.2022 Not everyone is safe at home

15.01.2022 Absolutely, we can aim to make the best of a tough situation, but trying to live our best life is probably unrealistic for most right now. Scale back. Prioritise. Let things go. Attend to the basic needs first - and if you still have time, space, and energy, then attend to other things Posted @withregram @nonie_carr_psychologist I love this use of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs... We are locked down and are living g at the base of the pyramid; we are in survival. This is ...not the time to be working towards living our best life... working towards self-actualization at this time is so challenging... our energy is being used for survival. If our physiological and safety needs are met we can focus on affiliation (or social) needs. If you have shelter, food, warmth and if you are safe and secure what are you doing to nurture your needs to interact with others? But right now, maybe it’s more helpful to be kind to yourself... give yourself a break. See more

10.01.2022 Are you getting out for an hour’s daily exercise and/ or fresh air? Are you prioritising it? If not, how can you?

08.01.2022 A courageous client has recommended this podcast have you been listening?

08.01.2022 Mood problems affect all areas of our functioning; the whole organism. Therefore it can be helpful to look at a number of interventions, including nutrition, to achieve improvements. I’m not suggesting that a change to your diet is the answer, but often will contribute to positive progress
