16.01.2022 #youthfit is supervised gym time for our student aged members (aged between 12-17). We have a specialised trainer who will be on the gym floor Monday - Thursda...y 3.30pm - 5.00pm to assist and supervise students to ensure they are using equipment safely, have an experienced go to person to answer questions, programs will be written to suit their goals, as well as providing a safe environment in our community for our children. #youthfit also includes all group fitness classes on our timetable. The program starts Monday 11th July till Sunday 2nd October and costs $99. To sign up for #youthfit please see reception. You will still need your parents or guardians permission to start. 16.01.2022 BODYPUMP Technique classes are here! Learn how to move the bar better to get stronger and leaner faster. The instructor will run you through drills to improve... your lifting technique. These technique sessions are great for all levels. The experienced pumper will learn the tips and tricks to make your technique better, enabling you to lift more weight and avoid injury. The new pumper will become familiar with BODYPUMP moves, and learn ways to set up quickly increasing confidence. You will also have a 1-on-1 time with your instructor to go through any questions you have. 12.01.2022 Getting Sick is Depressing Literally! When a person has an acute infection they often feel miserable and anti-social. Known as sickness behaviour, and bear...ing a striking similarity to clinical depression, these symptoms are not caused directly by the infection, but by the inflammatory response it induces. This response concentrates the bodys energy on healing, rather than dissipating it through work, social interaction, or reproduction (not tonight honey). Furthermore, it essentially quarantines the infected and potentially infectious individual from the rest of society, as opposed to "Soldiering on with Codral. (Not a good idea) What wasn't understood until recently was the link between systemic or chronic inflammation like sort joints or and irritable bowel and depression. Any inflammation from the gut or via autoimmunity, as well as infection can induce this neurodepressive response. in other words, if you are inflamed, you may not feel very happy or contented. Addressing inflammation by determining its source applying appropriate protocols and having a good old detox can make a world of difference to how you feel.

08.01.2022 I discovered the benefit of Emmett Therapy quite a few years ago. It's been my little secret to keep my body functioning at its best. It's fixed my back, sciatica, neck, sore ribs, sinus and disgustingly tight ITBs. It has helped me through both my pregnancies and quite often I just go for a "pick-me-up". The list could go on. I'm fortunate to have Colleen Kelly from Colleen Kelly Therapies located so close in The Gap. She is great at reading your body and you walk out feeling wonderful.

06.01.2022 This is a great read. I've had terrible sciatica on and off for years and these stretches are fantastic. Thank goodness for Colleen Kelly (of 'Colleen Kelly Therapies' in The Gap) and her amazing treatment of this condition (as well as many others). One treatment with her and my onset of sciatica disappears!

02.01.2022 Starting this weekend, Saturday 1st July till Sunday 27th August you can bring your mates FOR FREE during the weekend STAFFED HOURS (this includes 7am-6pm Satur...day and 3-6pm Sunday). They can do a class, work the weights, spot you on the bench, bop around on the treadmill, chill on the couch - what ever you like to do with your mates, you can do at GHRC for FREE on the weekend. Tag your mates that you want to workout with this weekend. It would be awkward if your friend sees this and you haven't tagged them - just sayin.
