25.01.2022 Still at the Karate Dojo tonight team

25.01.2022 Change of venue Hi Team Don't forget to hydrate throughout the day. We will be back at the Karate Dojo again for the next few weeks. See you all tonight

22.01.2022 Don't forget team, no class tonight. See you back at the Dojo next Tuesday night

20.01.2022 Apologies team for the late update, but big decisions take time. After 25 years of fitness fun, I have decided it's time to stop. To be honest I was going to announce this at our Christmas breakup last year (hence why Col was there) but I still wasn't sure. I've spent the last 5 weeks battling with my decision but I feel it's time. Thank you to everyone who ever came along to one of our classes. I have absolutely loved every minute of it. I will miss our 12 days of Chris...tmas, burpees (I mean who doesn't love them?) the dreaded cardio cough and of course the good old freestyle days. A huge and probably insufficient thank you to Col for taking me under her wing all those years ago and then becoming my partner and best friend, we have had so much fun over the years. (A big thank you also to Mel who has supported us both through thick and thin) Keep moving team, eat well and most importantly know that fitness isn't about looking good for insta posts, it's about living a long and healthy life. Remember, everything that people love about you, has nothing to do with what you look like.

20.01.2022 Hard to believe we are approaching the end of another year! Christmas breakup is Friday December 4th. Mark it on your calendars team. 6:30pm start and we will just order off the menu. Op Shop Formal is the theme so start getting your outfits ready ... Can you please RSVP if you are coming by Monday 30th so I can give the Tavern approximate numbers. Even if you haven't been for a while please come along and join in the fun.

18.01.2022 Hi team Apologies if you didn't see the update. Classes will resume next Tuesday 21st. Enjoy the last week off. I have been working on your classes so get ready $210 for the term, or $15 casual.

17.01.2022 Well team, we have all heard by now what our Government has asked us to do. Until further notice I am suspending my classes. I will refund the last 3 sessions to those of you who have paid up for the term. If you would like to borrow some of my gear to use at home, please just message me. I do have copies of past classes and again just message me if you would me send you some. I could even record my voice yelling if it helps I am more than happy to share. ... While this all feels unreal and maybe even a little drastic, I am just trying to do my bit to keep us all safe. Stay well team and I will keep you all posted.

16.01.2022 Soccer fields @ 5 again tonight. Don't forget your mat

12.01.2022 Dust of your sandshoes team, we are back in the hall baby!! Starting Tuesday night 20th October classes will return to Kianga Memorial Hall. Naturally once preparations for the annual ballet concert commence we will have to move out again temporarily. A massive thank you to the Moura Karate group who generously let us share their space over the past few months. We are all extremely thankful.... Just a few changes to our routines. We must enter through the front door (not through the kitchen) and as usual sign in and sanitise. Children can attend but must stay in the foyer. If you need the bathroom, please just use the unisex one inside the main hall. This will save me having to clean all of the toilets. Looking forward to seeing you Tuesday night

12.01.2022 Hi team I hope you've enjoyed your break Classes are back Tuesday 14th July BUT I am still trying to lock down where classes will take place. Hopefully I will have an answer tomorrow, keep your eyes out for an update

12.01.2022 The end of the year is fast approaching. It's time to lock in a date for our annual Christmas breakup. I have 2 dates to propose. Please respond with an A or B and the one with the most votes is the date we will run with: A. 27th November... B. 4th December No venue at this stage, once we pick a date I will book something. Please respond by Friday 16th October Have a great weekend team and see you all next week

09.01.2022 Woo hoo, we have a venue. Firstly a huge thank you to the committee of the Moura Karate Club who have very kindly agreed to let us use their Dojo for these next 3 weeks. This means we will be able to go back to a 6pm start as of tonight. $60 for the remainder of the term or $15 per session casually. We will need to adhere to the usual COVID protocols and please, no shoes inside the Dojo (the floor has mats).... The Dojo is located at 83 Dawson Highway (the old St Vinnies building) See you all at 6!

09.01.2022 Morning team Check the page later today for details about tonight's class. I am hoping to have confirmation of a temporary venue for us.Morning team Check the page later today for details about tonight's class. I am hoping to have confirmation of a temporary venue for us.

07.01.2022 Well team another year is over and it's nearly time for a visit from Santa. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for sticking with me this year, it means more than words can express. Thank you also for my lovely gift, it is truly appreciated Enjoy your Christmas and make make sure you take the time to be present with your family and friends (even if they are annoying). Classes will resume 21st January 2020. Keep an eye out for the timetable

06.01.2022 Well team, unfortunately my plans to restart today have hit a road block. I am still trying to work on a venue, so class tonight will have to be at the soccer grounds. Unfortunately for some of you because it gets dark early, we will have to start at 5 and finish around 5:45pm. To make up for this, there will be no charge for this week's classes. Things to remember for COVID-19.... Please maintain your 1.5 metre social distancing and make sure you leave straight after class. When you arrive and leave you will need to use the hand sanitiser provided. Please make sure you bring a mat for when we get on the ground. Numbers are limited to 20 so no children please. You must make sure you sign in. Looking forward to seeing you.

05.01.2022 Hi team, spread the word tomorrow nights class will be at the Primary School hall. Apologies for the late notice. Kianga Hall is needed for International Woman's Day celebrations Friday morning.

04.01.2022 Well team, the wait is over we can finally return to classes. I just need confirmation from BSC that we can return to the hall. Sooo fingers crossed, classes will resume this Tuesday night 2nd of June at 6pm. Keep your out for further details. I'll complete the COVID-19 safety plan checklist prior to starting to make we are compliant and will communicate any procedures to you all before we start. ... If you haven't been doing much, it might be a good time to head out for a little walk this afternoon and maybe even the odd squat or lunge (possibly even a burpee or two ).

02.01.2022 What an effort tonight team. High fives all round for getting through the circuit in this ridiculous heat. See you all Thursday for strength/conditioning .

01.01.2022 Hi Team and Happy Easter to you all. Hope you are keeping active in these interesting times. Remember, exercise isn't about a 10k run and interval training everyday, exercise is about keeping your body moving and your mind active.... Movement is everywhere in your environment. Lunge down your hall way, do push ups, squats or dips in ad breaks. Every time you go to sit on the couch, do 5 squats before you sit and 5 when you stand. If you are watching something on TV, choose a word or name and everytime it is spoken, everyone has to perform 5 or 10 reps of a certain exercise. When you are preparing meals do pushups using the bench or squats/lunges while you are waiting for things to cook. Don't have weights, no problem. Fill up water bottles or grab something heavy from the pantry. There are plenty of options. Most importantly team, look after yourself and your mental well being. Exercise plays a vital role in maintaining a positive outlook and we all need this at this time. A 30 min walk may not have the same impact on your calories as a Tabata class, but it will do the same for your mental wellbeing. Hang in there and I am looking forward to seeing you all back when we get the all clear. Stay safe xx
