25.01.2022 For the fifth time in just a few short months, we are saddened to announce............... The Australian and New Zealand Tattoo Industry has lost yet another much loved icon with the passing of Ray Shuttleworth at 4.20 am today, Saturday, the 1st May, 2021 in Masterton, New Zealand after a brave battle with cancer. Ray had been a tattoo artist for over sixty years, tattooing in almost every 'nook and cranny' and he was well know to almost every person in the tattooing fratern...ity, always a prominent figure at all the P.T.A.A. Conventions, always a smile and a kind word, a narrator of many interesting tales and some very helpful advice. Ray was awarded with a Life Membership of the P.T.A.A. in 2011 for his dedication to the Tattoo Industry, he will be sorely missed by each and every member and the wider tattooing population. Our sincerest condolences to his loving wife Marie and all The Family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. See more

He will be sadly missed by all that knew him, after 40 years in the Industry it's fair to say that he left his mark on a lot of people in more ways than one. Tazz was awarded a Life Membership to the P. T. A. A. Inc in 2016. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Suzanne and Rory and All the Family at Tattoo You

12.01.2022 The Australian Tattoo Industry has lost yet another much loved member with the passing of Ron Syle on Saturday, the 17th April, 2021 in Cooktown, Queensland after a brave battle with stomach cancer. For many years Ron owned and operated Ron's Tattoo Emporium, Brisbane Street, Ipswich and was a long-time member of the P. T. A. A. Inc. Ron devotion to the Industry was evident, he never missed a Tattoo Convention or Show, no matter what State the event was being held in and he n...ever missed a chance to 'pop in and say hi' at any tattoo studio he may have been passing. Described as the 'family larrikin' and 'gentle giant', Ron loved his Family and relished in their get-togethers, and the same must be said of the Tattoo Industry and of course, we can not forget his love of motor cycles and his trusty Harley Davidson that he spent many an hour clocking up thousands of kilometers. Ron will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this sad time. See more

10.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of yet another much loved and respected icon of the Australian Tattoo Fraternity, Rick Nash, on Thursday, 11th February in a Brisbane hospital, Queensland. Rick began his career in tattooing at an early age under the guidance of big brother John and began working side by side at the original High Energy Tattoo in Fortitude Valley. After suffering a massive stroke some 11 years ago, Rick fought his way back with sheer stren...gth and determination and finally returned to the career he loved so much and eventually opened Valley Mall Tattoo in Fortitude Valley. As Warren Rigby commented "You did it tough at times but you did it and did it well". Rick was a member of the P. T. A. A. Inc. for many years and at one stage was the Editor and Chief of Tat Chat, he also worked alongside his valued friends 'Westy' and Little Mick assisting with the publications of Australian Tattoo and Live to Ride. Rick was a very big part of Brisbane tattoo history and will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. Our sincerest condolences to Janine and all The Family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. See more
