25.01.2022 How to Retell Lecture In PTE ( Academic) exam? The purpose of this section is to assess your ability to make an oral presentation based on information taken from an academic lecture. Both speaking and listening skills are assessed. You will listen to a lecture on an academic topic and then retell what you have heard in your own words. The lectures are each between 60 and 90 seconds long. There are either three or four lectures; the number will depend on which form of the PTE ...Academic you are given. There will always be at least three lectures. You will have 40 seconds to retell each lecture. TIPS Study the picture if there is one. It will give you a general idea about the context of the lecture. From the picture, try to predict what the lecture will be about. You will have three seconds to get ready for the start of the lecture. Take notes. Use the erasable note board Booklet and pen provided. Do not try to write down every word you hear. Unless you are able to write quickly and accurately, you will probably fall behind and miss important information. Instead, focus on key words. Writing quickly is a key skill to master. Use abbreviations whenever possible. Ignore articles (e.g., a, an, the) unless they are necessary. Omitting the vowels from words is one way to increase writing speed. Key words include names, numbers, dates, times, and words and phrases that are stressed. Words and phrases that are repeated are usually central to the main idea. Focus on understanding the main idea of the lecture and the key points that support it. If the speaker draws a conclusion, be sure you have identified it. 'Iry to identify the overall purpose of the lecture. Listen for clues to the speaker's attitude, opinion, or stance. Be aware of the speaker's tone of voice and delivery, and try to detect any emotions that are being conveyed. When the lecture ends, you will have approximately 10 seconds to review your notes. Use this time to organize what you will say. When you hear the tone, begin speaking. You will have 40 seconds to complete the task. While you are speaking, if you lose your train of thought, or find yourself at a loss for words, do not remain silent. The microphone turns off automatically if there is no sound for three seconds. If you need to pause to think or to check your notes, use pause fillers such as um, uh, Let me see, and so on. Saying something - anything - is better than saying nothing because once the microphone turns off, you cannot turn on again.

24.01.2022 *****Repeat sentence***** As for Repeat the sentence section, you also cannot write all of them down. No time. So instead of spelling all words, you can write just one letter each for each word. For example; "The clinic is located on the second floor of that building infront of the shopping mall"... So instead of writing all down, you can write " T C I L O T S F O T B I O T S M" See more

17.01.2022 Another Tips Guyz.... Here are my comprehensive write-up on PTE-A exams and individual sections in each module based on my experience. Speaking:... Read aloud: Use the given 30-40 seconds to read through the text and identify the difficult words were you might struggle. Pay attention to flow of the sentences such as full stop, commas. Try to read the sentence like a news reader with some intonation and purpose. Quite straight forward. We get around 7-8 questions in this section. Repeat Sentence: The actual exams expect something like 8-10 words. Not very difficult. Just concentrate on the sentence and try to repeat as many words in-order as possible without any major pauses. We get around 8-10 questions in this section. Describe image: Try to speak about most of the information from the image in an organized manner than sharing (all/most of) the information in an unorganized manner. We get maps, graphs (run-chart; bar graphs; pie-chart; trend graphs etc). We get around 6-8 questions in this section. Re-tell Lecture: Yet another demanding section. Luckily we get around 2-3 questions in this section. The image gives a bit of idea about the narration. Try to note the key points and don’t waste time on examples too much. Understand the theme of the lecture and try to start with that. Something like Topic sentence, references or examples if any and conclusion in 40 secs. Answer a short questions in one ore few words: There are close to 10 questions. Few questions are straight forward. Like if time period before noon is called ante meridian, what is the time after noon called. But, there are few questions where you might need to go through a given picture which might vary from process flow diagram or a chart or whatever to answer the short question. Just try to see and understand the give picture on the toe and answer. You should be OK.

16.01.2022 READING: Multiple choice, choose multiple answers Quickly read through the response options and note any words that are repeated, particularly adjectives (e.g., ‘multigrade’) or nouns (e.g., ‘classes’). If the same noun phrase occurs in a lot of the options, the answer is probably related to this phrase. Scan the text for the repeated words. Then read around them to find the answer more quickly.

09.01.2022 Sharing Someone's experience ******* During my first test, I was very concerned about content especially in sections for "Retell Lecture" and "Describe Image". But after my research on how they score and some of the tips from those folks who have taken the tests, fluency is the most important factor. During my first test, I used a lot of "Arr, Arr, Hmm, Hmm" because I needed time to think to give more information about the content. But in my second attempt, I gave more attent...ion to fluency so I actually scored 90 in fluency and overall speaking score was 88. For "Retell Lecture", personally, it is not possible to listen and remember them all to retell. So what I did was, I jotted down what I can remember especially key points with numbers, percentages, years, ages etc. Do not write the names but use the title or occupations instead. For example, if it's said "Dr Michale Alexendra", you just say a doctor said bla bla bla. And instead of trying to write down everything, just try to catch some full sentences. Maybe after the lecture, you might be able to get 4 to 5 sentences and that is pretty much enough for you to say in the time given. You can elaborate it by saying " the lecture privide brief information about XXX. According to the speaker, he said XXX" etc. As for describe image, same thing applies. Pay attention to fluency more than content. Include an introduction by saying this bar chart/ pie chart/ graph/ image provides information about XXX or illustrates XXX. Then say the highest and lowest figures or key points.

01.01.2022 In the current time of data, perusing really is a major basic instinct. Here are ten tips that anybody can use to enhance their perusing abilities: 1. You don't need to be an extraordinary peruser to get the point. A few individuals read quick and recollect everything. Others read gradually and take two or three times to get all the data. It doesn't make a difference, truly, insofar as when you read, you get the data you're looking for. ... 2. Know WHY you're perusing. Is it accurate to say that you are perusing for excitement or to learn something? Choose why you're perusing before you begin and you'll extraordinarily enhance your cognizance and your satisfaction. 3. You don't have to peruse everything. Not every magazine, letter, and email you get contains data you require. Truth be told, the vast majority of it is just garbage. Discard it, hit the erase key! Simply doing this will twofold the measure of time you have accessible to peruse. 4. You don't have to peruse all of what you DO read. Do you read each article of each magazine, each section of each book? Provided that this is true, you're most likely investing a considerable measure of energy perusing stuff you needn't bother with. Be picky: select the sections and articles that are vital. Disregard the rest. 5. Output before you read. Take a gander at the chapter by chapter guide, record, theme headers, photograph inscriptions, and so on. These will help you figure out whether, a) you have a genuine enthusiasm for this perusing, and b) what data you're liable to get from it. 6. Organize you're perusing. You can't read everything at the same time (and wouldn't have any desire to). In the event that it's vital, read it now. In the event that it's not, give it a chance to hold up. 7. Advance you're perusing environment. You'll read speedier and appreciate more on the off chance that you read in a situation that is agreeable for you. 8. When you begin, don't stop! Perused every thing straight through. In the event that you complete and have inquiries, retreat and re-read the apropos segments. On the off chance that you don't have questions, you got what you required and are prepared to proceed onward. 9. Center. Recall that, you're perusing with a reason, so concentrate on that reason and the material. On the off chance that you lose intrigue or continue losing your place, enjoy a reprieve or read something else. You can stay informed regarding where you are by taking after alongside your hand. This straightforward method helps you center and build your focus. 10. Hone! The more you read, the better peruser you'll get to be (and more astute, as well)! In this way, encourage your brain: read!
