25.01.2022 PTM Group recently had the opportunity to collaborate with ECB Training Services (a local Indigenous owned Registered Training Organisation), Larrakia Nation and the NT Government to recruit 13 Indigenous work experience candidates to work on some of our projects here in the Top End. The candidates were placed under work experience over a period of two weeks to gain the necessary exposure to civil construction industry jobs that have vacancies available (to allow for a smooth transition into potential employment/apprenticeships) We look forward to continuing these partnerships that provide job opportunities and positive outcomes in our community.

25.01.2022 Work is well and truly underway on the shade structure in Cavenagh St in the Darwin CBD >>

24.01.2022 Have you seen the construction of the 'vegetated shade structure' on Cavenagh Street yet? Read this article about how we can use innovative methods to cool our city.

24.01.2022 The CBD cooling has started with the installation of the misting units on the Cavanagh St Shade Structure. These misters will really make an impact once the vines have created a solid canopy over the structure.

These plants recently got their first pruning by Sterling NT... Pruning promotes thick, healthy regrow & more flowers. Hopefully another wet season will see the foliage thicken up across the top of the shade structure! #watchthisspace Read more here: https://www.ptmgroup.com.au//cavenagh-street-shade-struct/ First : Savvy Social #boundlesspossible #darwinnt #northernterritory #innovative #construction #cavenaghstreetshadestructure

22.01.2022 Do you feel a sense of piety when driving under the Cavenagh Street Shade structure? Well did you know that the design was inspired by The Abbey at Fontenay? The great Cistercian Monastery at Fontenay in Burgundy. Built 900 years ago by monks. They introduced water-powered drop hammers to their forge, the very first in Europe.... (Photo of Monastery thanks to Julie Macpherson)

21.01.2022 We don't have a shutdown period this year, but we will be tools down on Christmas, Boxing day and the New Year. Have a safe and happy festive season and a happy new year.

20.01.2022 Whilst you're sleeping, we're busy working on the Cavenagh St Shade Structure. Some great night footage here from AANT.

17.01.2022 We've started planting along Cavenagh Street, underneath the shade cover as well as planter boxes along the side of the road, not only does this help with the cooling, but we think it looks great too! We should be finishing up the landscaping this week, which means we will only have the lighting and misting systems left to complete.

14.01.2022 We did it!! the shade structure is now complete. We only have the garden beds outside the Roma Bar and The Cav Darwin to complete (should be done this week), a water meter concrete box (should be finished by end of November) and the lights which we're looking at completing by mid-December. Check out these awesome progress shots from NT Government

10.01.2022 MEET THE TEAM Meet Jarod, Our Project Administrator. Hi I’m Jarod, I have recently started working at PTM Group. ... PTM Group has given me the opportunity to consolidate and expand my knowledge whilst studying a Bachelor of Construction Management. When I started working for the company I was warmly welcomed by the existing members of staff, who have been friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. As it is my first job in the construction industry, I have received irreplaceable support and guidance whilst grasping the construction industries challenging and exciting concepts. PTM Group has helped me learn many practical skills which cannot be obtained through my degree, including document control, people skills and a physical understanding of what I have been learning through my studies. I have also learnt numerous things that have not yet been covered in my studies including the trades and work required to build an extension to a RAAF Base laboratory. Some tasks I have been involved in include, updating documents, ITP control and other administrative duties. I look forward to my future endeavours as part of the PTM Group team.
