25.01.2022 Why working out at home is great? 1. No drive time 2. No waiting for equipment 3. COVID -19 safe... 4. You chose your time 5. No expensive gym fees 6. Easy and accesible consistency = results! Next round starts next week, send me a DM now to join! (Only a few spots available)

24.01.2022 Tonight I had a great check-in call with my coaching group, they have been consistently adding bits of movement to their lifestyle and are all feeling super proud about it! Understanding that your fitness routine can vary depending on your circumstances (and what you enjoy) but that you can always do something, is key to maintain your healthy lifestyle in the long term What’s your minimum for movement? Do you have a routine that you can always do even when you’re super b...usy or stressed? #repost: Movement is a big part of a healthy lifestyle, and for some people is key to maintain their healthy weight. . Your exercise habit doesn’t have to stop when you go on holidays or works gets too busy, rather you can dial up its intensity and/or frequency depending on your circumstances, remember perfection doesn’t exist. . Maybe when at home you can do 5-1hr workouts per week, but when you’re away or your work is too busy you can only do 10min workouts next to your bed . . #succeedptraining #onlinecoach #personaltrainer #fitlifestyle #fitover40 #holidays #activelifestyle #precisionnutrition #nutritioncoach

24.01.2022 Happy Sunday, I’m sharing here a bit of another client’s experience. She joined the group coaching not clear on how much or what to eat for her goals, she shared with us that social events, eating out with her family and birthday parties were a big deal because she felt unsure about: food choices, wanting to enjoy the occasion and also keep working for her fitness goals.... Her struggles are very common, and I loved helping her out discovering what worked for her and her goals while still enjoying her social life. If you can relate to this common situation, I’d love to help out. The next program starts on the 29th and spots are limited, send me a DM to have a chat and see if we’re a good fit to work together. You can be anywhere in the world! #succeedptraining #nutritioncoach #fitnesscoach #nutritioncoach #healthyliving #fitover40

23.01.2022 These are goals to aim for, and working towards them is a great alternative to the traditional weight loss goal! Im personally working my way to 10 full push ups what about you??

22.01.2022 Did you know that sufficient sleep makes you feel happier and saner? And if youre a parent or youre a woman in the peri-menopause or menopause stage youd say: DUH YEAHHHHH!!! An earlier bedtime can also mean less eating - no snacking late at night and less sugary and salty cravings the next day. Sleep also regulates our metabolism and helps keeping us healthier and leaner. ... And if youre like me sleep helps you think clearer and generally be more patient. Im also not a driving hazard for me and the rest of Adelaide drivers out there. With time I have become very serious about sleeping when Im feeling very sleep-deprived, I would often take a power nap in my car at lunch time, Id nap between laundry loads on the weekends, and I would take a sick day from work just to sleep (like I did last Friday). I remember being the best when I got to get a nap with my babies. These days I have to settle for napping with the puppy. How many hours of sleep you get per night? Do you ever take a nap? How often? #succeedptraining #nutritioncoach #fitover40 #sleep

21.01.2022 Coffee started like an office-day habit for me, and with time it became a daily thing (more so after having kids!) Did you know it takes about 8hrs for caffeine to leave our bodies? This means that to help you have a restful sleep at night you may want to avoid coffee after 2pm. And restful sufficient sleep is a key element to reach your health/fitness goals. How many cups of coffee do you drink in avg. per day? Whats your favourite way to drink it? Milk/no milk? Latte ...or capuchino? #succeedptraining #coffeetime #nutritioncoach

20.01.2022 Trying to follow every single piece of advice out there is overwhelming, and very difficult to apply consistently. Even if the advice is great, if it feels like too much, it wont work for you. If thats your case try keeping it simple with these tiny habits for a bit. You can see results without complicated diets. ... #succeedptraining #nutritioncoach #personaltrainer #fitover40 #fatlosstips

20.01.2022 EVER TRIED TO LOSE WEIGHT AND ‘FAILED’? READ THIS When it comes to losing weight and getting the body you want, I’m sure you have heard (even from me!) that eating better is the most important step. However, I know there’s a problem, the only problem? Most of the common diet advice you receive (not from me ) simply isn't sustainable... Avoid your favourite foods forever!... Don’t ever eat after 7pm! Weigh and measure every bit of food you eat! So if you've tried something before and failedor just can’t stick with ityou’re not alone. (And it’s definitely NOT your fault.) I talk to people every day who are trying to muster up all the willpower they can find to diet their way to a better body but they still aren’t getting the results they want. Ready for some good news?! I can help you learn how to eat better so that it becomes easy, consistent, and automatic. I’m opening 5 spots for my 90 days to Succeed program that will start in Jan 2021. No restrictive dieting. No weighing or measuring your food required if you don’t like that. No one size fits all meal plan. If this is something you’d be interested in, send me a DM and I’ll happily talk to you about it. Spots are LIMITED! (last time the program was sold out in a week) So don’t think about it too long. [Awesome pic from Precision Nutrition] #succeedptraining #nutritioncoach

19.01.2022 What should I eat? It seems some of you struggle with what to eat, and this is quite common because theres so much information out there. I like to keep things simple, so if you want to eat a little bit better, I would encourage you to move a little bit away of processed foods whenever you get a chance. You dont need to go full-on to a Whole-30 diet if you dont want. Remember that flexibility allows for sustainability, theres no need for drastic changes or hard restric...tions. And food after all is much more than fuel. To generally improve your health you should eat a variety of veggies, eat a bit more of the foods on the green list, foods on the yellow list and a little bit of the foods on the red list. PS: if youre ready to learn not only what to eat but also how much according to your goals, Im looking for 5 ladies to join my new coaching group. Send me a message if you want more info about it Precision Nutrition #succeedptraining #nutritioncoach #fitnesscoach #onlinepersonaltrainer #fitover40mom

19.01.2022 Fantastic read Every (((BODY))) can run! PS: Did you know Im a Level 2 running coach? Whatever your running goal is, Im pretty sure I can help you get there safely set that goal and call me!

19.01.2022 A few months ago a posted this picture in my IG Stories, my friend E. has now lost 12kgs working with me, but the best part is that she’s done it while raising three school-aged kids with a husband that works away very often, so much stress! Her practical approach and mindset is everything to succeed: I’m not starving, I can eat anything I want, I know now that looking after my eating doesn’t mean that I have to avoid foods, I also know that if one meal isn’t the best, I ju...st need to keep trying. She has some solid nutrition habits now, she has a very social life that hasn’t given up (and she doesn’t need to), she doesn’t go to the gym, and mostly walks whenever she can. Her story is super inspiring to me, because caring after kids and running the house mostly solo is a tough job, but she’s determined, kind to herself and making progress, and she’s super proud and confident of herself! She is part of my group coaching, she loves the group support as she doesn’t feel alone in her journey. If you want to join us, there’s a new group starting next Monday for 12 weeks and there’s only 3 spots remaining. Send me a DM tonight to chat about how I can help you. xx Maria #succeedptraining #nutritioncoach #personaltrainer #fitover40 #weightlossmotivation

18.01.2022 How much to eat? This is one is a tricky skill because there are a few ways to measure and play with how much you eat depending on your goals. 1. Use a calorie tracker like My Fitness Pal. Is practical and relatively easy to use. Measure your portion, look it up in the app and add the respective calories. One big downside is that for every food choice there are like 100 options in the database, it can get very confusing and messy.... 2. Hand portions method. Very practical and what I recommend most times. You have your hands wherever you go anyway. It can be tricky for a few foods like cows milk or legumes. But it can be easily used most of the time. 3. Create your own way to measure things, using plates/cups/spoons/food scales. You only need to be consistent with your own method. Use any of the methods above to measure everything that you eat during a week, then if you goal is to lose fat next week reduce your portions a tiny bit, try eating that consistently for a couple of weeks and based on results decide your next step. Remember to not to look only at the scale number, check other signs for progress, especially if youre also exercising. Also, use your common sense when reducing portions, what you do to lose fat has to be sustainable for you to maintain it later. Dont make drastic changes PS: if youre ready to commit to a program where I guide you in measuring your portions and adjusting them based on your goals, I have your solution! It is a program for busy working women tired of yo-yo diets wanting to lose up to 5kgs in the next 90 days. Send me a DM if you want more info! 18.01.2022 One of the basic principles of what has been proved to be a good nutrition plan: eat a little bit more of the green side foods, and a little bit less of the red side foods based on your preferences. Theres no need to completely give up on the foods you like. 17.01.2022 A great question I have been asked a lot lately: Is it safe to run/workout while wearing a mask? Ive done some research and found this article from the British Journal of Sports Medicine with a nice summary of the topic. ... https://blogs.bmj.com//should-people-wear-a-face-mask-dur/ Some takeaways: 1. Viral transmission from an infected but asymptomatic person is possible. Due to the increased rate and force of breathing during exercise, there is some risk the virus can be more contagious when exercising than at rest. 2. Air-flow restricting masks can increase the rate of perceived exertion and decrease performance during exercising. However, no negative effects on aerobic performance have been demonstrated. 3. If you have a heart or lung condition then exercise at a lower intensity when you wear the mask. 4. Everyone should be extra aware of their breathing when wearing it during exercise, and take extra breaks or slow down if the intensity feels too high or you feel dizziness. 5. Two layers of material (cloth masks) are considered sufficient to balance efficacy and comfort. 6. Make sure your mask is comfortable and secure before leaving the house, and please limit the need to readjust it and touch your face. Dont fall in the trap of having a drink every 5min to rest from the mask. 7. Keep washing and sanitising your hands! 8. Maintain always social distance when possible because the mask doesnt protect you 100%. 9. Do no re-use the mask and wash it regularly. 10. PLEASE stay at home if you ever feel just a tiny bit sick. Hope this helps, stay safe!

17.01.2022 All of us struggle often with workouts. Its impossible to be perfect. What matters is that you find the right program for you, trust it, and stay consistent. 15.01.2022 Happy Friday! To get the "toned" body and the lean look you want, you need to progress and improve your exercise routine. Trainers like to call this the principle of Progressive Overload, and increasing the weight you lift is not the only way to do it. Anything that makes your exercise routine a bit hard will work. Because I only workout at home I have become very familiar with all of those in the pic, and my favorite are to increase the tempo and to increase the range of m...otion - do each move slower and with a better form each time. 14.01.2022 Working out while wearing a mask advice.

14.01.2022 Why? 1. It helps you eat less without feeling hungry. 2. Eating protein helps you maintain or build more muscle. And muscle is the body asset you want to maintain as you age. Research shows that high-protein diets are better for improving body composition than low-protein diet. ... How much to eat? 13.01.2022 Dont get stuck in the fear - I am training for a trail running race, specifically Im training for an 105km trail running race. Something I have never done before, and something that truly is scaring me more the closer it gets. So Im entering the last block of training with long hours out there practicing. And yesterdays training had it all that I need to practice: it was long +5hrs, it was raining 90% of the time, it got very cold after 5pm with still 2hrs to go, and it... went into the dark/night I struggled LOTS with being wet and cold, because I wasnt prepared with the right gear, and that seriously put me off all the way. Giving me so many doubts about being able to complete this race at all. In my mind a spent some time stuck thinking what did I do signing up for this?, This is just impossible for me, Im not ready for this, and I just want to curl up in my bed and hug my mom But after doing that, because its ok to have those feelings, I can also chose to be grateful for the support Im getting from my family and friends to do this, that I wasnt alone last night: I was with two fantastic and caring friends , I can also be thankful Im physically able to try this, and more so for the wealth of data that I have now to prepare myself better for race day. Last night was just another opportunity to strengthen my resilience and to practice some self-compassion. And just like for fat loss/fitness, business or career goal without those skills you cant succeed. I wish you very productive week. #succeedptraining #fatloss #fitover40 #trailrunning #runningcoach #nutritioncoach #running

12.01.2022 What a great story Above all, running will always be my favorite and wish Id be able to do it until Im really really old From the article: ... "And yet, the book passages that resonate most now, as we hunker in our apartments and houses, battling anxiety, boredom and fear, are not the prophecies but the simple truths of the sport. Only running can be done anywhere, requires practically no equipment and costs almost nothing, Fixx wrote. You can go out your front door right now and get started. You dont need a bicycle, a swimming pool, a boat or a court. You dont need a track, either; running can be done anywhere. I have run on paths, roads and highways, in parks and fields, and on the main streets of New York, London, Florence and Vienna. You can run at dawn, at midnight or whenever it suits your schedule and your fancy. I have runand enjoyed itin snow, sleet, wind and hail and on the most forbidding hot days of Florida summer." 11.01.2022 Slow is better ( for so many things really ) - Are you a slow eater? Have you finished your meal and then asked yourself where did it go? ... In general it takes at least 20min for signals to go from our tummy to our brain to tell us that we are full. If you wanna gain weight simply eat at a faster pace each meal and is likely you’d end up eating more than what you need. This week my group coaching ladies are working on eating slower and more mindfully, as this is one of the key practices to succeed losing fat and maintaining a healthy weight. Not only it helps feeling more relaxed during and after your meals, but because you feel more satisfied it helps you to avoid overeating. We live busy lives and it’s understandable that not all our meals can be eaten slowly, specially if you’re caring for little ones at home!. But as with everything, it always pays off to simply try our best at every meal. Next time you sit down for a meal, you could try being the slower at the table, or simply start by adding one more minute to your eating time. Do you have any other tips?

10.01.2022 Brain needs to be just a little bit patient!

10.01.2022 WHAT'S THE RETURN ON INVESTMENT BY WORKING WITH ME? - That's kind of the elephant in the room, isn't it? I don't get this question a lot, but I sense people thinking it. I have just opened a few spots for the next round of my nutrition and exercise program, so here are four ways you will get a tangible return on investment (ROI) by signing up and working with me ... 1. SUPPORT ( and no judgement) - and not only from me but from the rest of the group. You’d see you’re not alone in your challenges to lose fat or make exercise a habit. I will work with you, and within the group we support and help each other to reach our goals. This I’d say is the BEST thing about the program. Also it will be fun! 2. SELF CONFIDENCE - The people who work with me learnt to trust themselves to make better choices. They feel comfortable and confident in their own bodies and abilities to reach their goals. They learn about awareness, self-compassion and kindness and how practicing these are key for their success. 3. YOUR OWN PLAN - this program isn’t about diets, restriction or eliminating food groups. And though this is a group program I will support you finding what works for you and your goals: lose fat, improve you relationship with food, eat healthier, exercise more. You will learn how to adjust your diet (and exercises) to your lifestyle to get where you want and stay there. 4. ACCOUNTABILITY - You will know what to do and I’ll give you the tools to be accountable to yourself and to us in the group. This will help you when motivation goes away (as it usually does), and when things don’t go as planned. If you are thinking about making that leap, and are ready to work on little habits to get you fitter and healthier, send me a Direct Message and let's chat! There’s only a few spots available and we will start soon!! #succeedptraining #onlinepersonaltrainer #nutritioncoach

06.01.2022 Do you know why you move? - In the equation of becoming a healthier person there’s always the movement/exercise component. Many of us start moving with the idea of burning calories or earning food... our goals tend to be extrinsic: a weight goal, a certain number of sessions, a 30 day challenge, lower our blood sugar levels. These goals are great to start with, that’s also how I started over 10 years ago: wanting to lose 15kgs. The thing is, all these goals don’t necessarily... help you to maintain your healthy lifestyle once you reach your goal. And without a goal where’s the motivation? If you’ve gone through this, there’s something more you can do, start with those extrinsic goals. They’re great to start, but then along the way, think about what you feel when you workout, how accomplished you feel after a session, how confident you feel after lifting more weight than last week, how much fun you have with your friends during the Zumba class, the wonderful views or the quietness during your walks, the happy exhaustion after chasing after your kid on a bike. Make those your goals. The feelings, sensations and purpose will give you more lasting motivation than any specific outcome goal. Remember, you want to be active for the rest of your life #succeedptraining #nutritioncoach #personaltrainer #fitover40 #motivation

02.01.2022 Happy Sunday champions! This morning during our usual Sunday run, my good friend Jess and I discussed how important is to find role models when we work towards a goal. And I think it is very important because it helps us believe we can achieve what we want. My very first role models in running were Dimity and Sarah from @themotherrunner , I stumbled upon their blog a decade ago, then their FB group and later their first book (in the pic). To me it was a whole new world fill...ed with moms like myself finding joy and confidence through running. In their group you would find anything from TMI tips to safety advice when running, I will be always grateful to them they are a constant source of inspiration to me. It doesnt matter if youre a runner or not, I bet youll find some inspiration in their account too . Hope you had a fabulous weekend too. Tel me whos your role model in health and fitness? Any special account you get inspiration from? Any book? Please share it with me! You can also join our FB group SucceedPT Club where I share tips, recipes and workouts to keep you motivated. my first Half Marathon May 2011! #succeedptraining #tribe #anothermotherrunner #motherrunner #runningcoach

02.01.2022 #TBT - I used to be a calorie counting junkie The pic is from 2012 running the Barossa half Marathon. The time when I used to starve myself counting to 1200cal a day using an app (MyFitnessPal) even though I was training for a half marathon and needed a bit more food In hindsight probably craving and binging on burgers and chips on the weekends was my body telling me to feed it more, I just didn’t know any better then .... As an engineer it feels easy to me to count calories. And back then it felt ok like I needed to burn off a cheat meal with more running. Also it felt ok to fit the treats in my day just because they would fit in my macros Now I know a lot more about nutrition, and I’m here to tell you that you deserve much more than another diet. More than looking at your meals like only numbers and macros. You deserve great results, improve your relationship with food and exercise, learn to listen to your body , be kind to yourself and re-gain some self-trust as well. Think about all you deserve, before you think about which new diet are you trying next year. Remember that I’m opening 5 spots for my 90 days to Succeed program that will start in Jan 2021.
