19.01.2022 Yesterday I hosted a group to Wave Rock with @caseytours and it was Casey Tours looked after us all so well and the day went off without a hitch! We covered a lot of ground in 1 day but the itinerary was very well thought out with lots of comfort stops along the way where we could stretch the legs, explore and made the journey all that more memorable. ... Our driver Brian was very personable, going the extra mile to make sure we saw all that Hyden had to offer, even venturing to the Malku’s Caves, which wasn’t on our itinerary and which also made us arrive back in to Perth a bit later than expected but that didn’t matter to us! We met with the Queen of Wave Rock, Sheenagh, who has lived & worked in Hyden all her life, following generations before her. Sheenagh has a great relationship with @caseytours and generously took time out of her busy day to jump on our coach and show us around her family farm. We also saw the new Wave Rock resort which is due to open at the end of the month, with its very open natural salt spring! We covered; York (comfort stop) Quairading (morning tea) Corrigin (dog cemetery) Hyden Hippo’s Yawn Wave Rock Mulka’s Cave Brookton (comfort stop) Traveller tip; When visiting Hyden, visit Hippo’s Yawn first and follow the 500 meter around path to Wave Rock! 08.01.2022 Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park - Well worth a visit! Located about 15 minutes outside of Broome, the Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park is open daily from 2-5pm with crocodile feeding at 3pm! ... We arrived just before 3pm which was perfect. We got to hold the baby crocodiles, watch the feeding then head on a very informative 1 hour tour of the wilderness park. Our guide/host was fantastic and every passionate about what he does. There are no busses out to the park. We hired a car for a few days which was ideal for getting around. Tours cost about $90pp including resort pick up & drop off or you could catch a taxi but keep in mind, during covid, Broome lost 2/3 of their taxi drivers making wait times between 30mins & 1 hour. There’s no ubers either..
