23.01.2022 A massive shout out today to Chief Inspector, Commander Brenton Charlton of the NSW Police Rescue & Bomb Squad. Yesterday, Commander Charlton saved the lives of an elderly couple caught in a house fire at Sydenham whilst on the way to work. (see story below) I love the fact he was wearing thongs and Penrith Panthers shorts. You know, the thin blue line, the men and women of our NSW Police Force do such amazing work and keep people like you and me safe and sound. So much so th...at we often don't really consider them too much. All too often however, their work comes at a huge personal toll to them and their families. They see such horrible circumstances and have to deal on a regular basis with trauma and the very worst of human behavior. They do a vital job in society, which I know I could never do. Commander Charlton exemplifies the very best of these people and I acknowledge him today and every single police officer out there looking after us. Thank you all, jc. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au//be1c1e80ed0fd82989cc549f

17.01.2022 Below is a link to the Findings and Recommendations of the State Coroner of NSW's Inquest into the deaths arising from the Lindt Cafe Siege dated May 2017. We are currently reviewing it. Hopefully it goes some way to bringing out the truth of what occurred on that awful day. http://www.lindtinquest.justice.nsw.gov.au//findings-and-r

12.01.2022 Very happy (but also sad) to farewell my wonderful lawyer Nadia who is off overseas for two weeks tomorrow. Nadia has taken up a fantastic opportunity to attend the 'Psychiatry 2017' conference at the esteemed Harvard Medical School in Boston. The course is an overview of recent updates in respect of psychological illness and is directly relevant to her legal work. She's then finishing up with a week in NYC with friends. Many of you will know how hard Nadia works and she certainly deserves a good break. All the best Nadia and I look forward to hearing all about the course and having you back at work, quickly. Also, we have a new clerk, Jack Townend who has started with us. Jack, as well as being my nephew and Godson (yes I do make him call me God Father), is a first year law and communications student.

02.01.2022 The ABC's Background Briefing programme has just posted a podcast story regarding sexual harassment and bullying within the New South Wales Police Force. As part of the story they have interviewed a number of ex police and I was given the opportunity to provide some comments. This is a very important issue within the Force which affects a lot of officers and their families. In dealing with our clients, it is a fairly common feature of many officers experience within the forc...e. Well worth a listen, jc.

01.01.2022 And that's a wrap for 2017! A very Merry Christmas to all our clients and their families, our supporters and friends. Our final thought is with our first responders working so hard for us all over this Christmas period; we hope you all remain safe and well. To those out there suffering the terrible effects of psychological injuries, I know from you that Christmas can be a really tough period. Please look after yourself, reach out if you need help and remember there is always hope no matter how dark the circumstances might seem.
